Dutie​s: Medical ​911 dispatcher/operator. As a medical 911 operator I am in charge of
answering calls and entering important information gathered from the caller. I then EMD the
calls, this could be anything from giving pre­arrival instructions such as putting pets away &
turning on an outside light so they are found easily to giving direction and instructions on how
to deliver a baby or perform CPR. Among these duties there are also other responsibilities
such as checking insurance, quoting different prices based off of that information, and setting
up/verifying doctor appointments for repetitive patients. That is only the call taking/making

2. process of the job. As a dispatcher I am in charge of making sure all of the 18 counties that my
company covers are supplied with the amount of ambulances in their contracts. This involves
posting from county to county. Over the 18 county span, we have around 55 units every day.
I have recently started dispatching a new area. The control center in Winona dispatches
ambulances all over Memphis and Nashville. We answer and run around 70 calls per day.
