RESPECTED MAATE SMT VITTABAI FAKIRASA KALBURGI
(VITTUMAUSHI) GADAG. ST- KARNATAKA.
BIOGRAPHY.
Respected Maate,
Vittumoushi was a
very famous great
personality of S.S.K.
Samaj in Karnataka.
Karnataka as well as
Maharashtra, Goa,
A n d h r a p r a d e s h ,
Tamilnadu, Gujarat and
Rajasthan of all races,
devotees called her by
the surtitle vittumaushi with utmost love. For all
of them vittumaushi was a great spirit and a pure
soul. (Holy Spirit).
This Holy Spirit was born in Gudur a village in
Hunagund taluka of Vijaypur district. The father
respected Late. Shri Bhujingasa Dalbanjan, it is
said that, he also had a mastery in astrology. The
mother, Muktabai was from the family of Dalbanjan
( Gudur Patil ) Vittumaushi had a elder sister, Smt.
Laxmibai and a younger sister Smt. Savitribai. She
didn’t have brothers. Maate Vittumaushi’s father
Shri Bhujingasa passed away. When she was
about 3 years. Mother Muktabai B. Dalbanjan had
a work of weaving the silk sarees, doing deliveries
of babies and producing herbal medicines was her
profession. Thus, she helped the people and took
care of her 3 daughters, Hunagund taluka was
their resident. Vittumaushi learnt up to 5th STD in
Marathi medium of vijaypur along with the school
studies, she also studied about astrology and she
was specialist in it at a young age. At this young
age she made Naagadevta as her adorable God
By the grace of Shri Naagadevata Vittumaushi
solved the difficulties and errors of the people who
came to her. She used to see their kundali and
tell the events exactly that took place in their life
and find the errors in their kundali and told poojas
to solve them. The devotees who performed
pooja admired her saying that vittumaushi had
made miracle by solving their difficulties. Gadag,
Gulburga, Bellary, Sindhanur, Gangavati, Karatagi,
Raichur, Haveri, Ranebennur, Harihar, Davangere,
Bangalore, Mysore, Belgaum, Bagalkot, Vijaypur,
Karwar, Dandeli in this way devotees from every
corner of Karnataka came to maushi saying their
difficulties and skimpiness and get understand the
solution of it, by her. They performed the pooja as
she explained, without any mistakes and got their
work done successfully. Nowhere uncured diseases
got completely cured by adoring Naagadevta,
such several cases are there, and we should listen
from those who have got experience. Accordingly
the devotees who inquired difficulties about land,
house, shop, factories, the massive buildings ,
at what time the devotees left the house i.e on
time basis Maate Vittumaushi used to explain the
difficulties or problems regarding the place, layout
of the area, building as if she herself had seem it
and gave a remedy for the error.
The badi family of Bangalore said to moushi
that, they are in difficulty as their home business
was not going well. She said your time is good,
within a year your business will do well and you
have a chance to roam in your own car. It was
a miracle and a true episode that, within a year
they came in a car to meet maushi and to get her
blessings.
A 15 year old son of a resident of Gulburga was
suffering from urinary trouble from an early age.
Once his urine stopped and they took treatment
in a big hospital but they didn’t get any benefit
by that. As per the maushi’s advice they brought
him to the house from the hospital and did all the
pooja’s and treatment as maushi said, he got well
within a half an hour. Gradually as the disease
was completely cured the people of Gulburga
remember it with devotion till today. Likewise
there are many such miracles that took place.
There is no end for such truth moments to say
From an early age Maushi was daily worshiping
the Naagadevata. From about 50 – 60 years, she
was having her indignantly afternoon lunch only
once. After that she didn’t had interest in any food,
she respected with hospitality to the devotees and
guests who came to her house, she used to get
satisfied by giving them food or snacks by her own
hands. “ Atithi Devobhava” this line she brought in
practice in her daily life.
Every year in the month of sharavana she
submitted the special pooja for Naagadevata,
on the next day of the sharavana new moon day
(Amavasya) from that day till Naagapanchami, she
exercise fasting. Her son’s daughters, daughters-
in-law also worshipped Shri Naagadevata with
love and affection, flower decoration and great
devotion through fasting.
At that time Naagadevata got overt and several
devotees took the vision and were happy to be
blessed by Shri. Naagadevata. Vittumaushi got
the grace of Shri. Naagadevata from an early age.
In vjaypur when she was studing in 4th 5th STD,
she lived with her elder sister Smt. Laxmibai.
Narayansa. Kanchi in her house. In the Laxmidevi
temple and Vittal Rukumai temple which is near
her house i.e today’s Gandhi chowk, while playing
Shri. Laxmidevi got overt and became a small
girl like maushi and also lived, talked and played
with her, vittumaushi was often saying this, she
also shared the matter of Vital Rukumai getting
overt, of the Vittal Rukumai temple, Shri Narasoba
(Shri Nagadevata) of vijaypur also got overt and
had conversations with Vittumaushi. All these
matters she said in front of her close relatives and
devotees she expressed her happiness when she
talked about the life of her early age.
At the age of 13 maushi got married in noted
music (Sangeet) Gharana of Gadag with Shri.

PLAY ‘HOLI’ WITH SAFE COLOURS
‘Holi’ or ‘Phagwah’ is the most colourful festival celebrated on the
full moon day falling in the month of phalguna ( Feb-Mar ). It is cel-
ebrated as harvest festival as well as welcome festival for the spring
season in India. It can be regarded as celebrated of colours of unity
and brotherhood.
Various colours and water are thrown on each other, admist loud
music, drums etc to celebrate Holi. In some parts the celebrations are
also associated with spring harvest. Farmers after seeing their stores
being refilled with new crops celebrate Holi as part of their happiness,
so Holi is also known as ‘vasant Mahotsava’ and ‘kama Mahotsava’.
Holi also signifies a victory of good over evil. As per ancient mythol-
ogy, there is a legend of king Hiranyakashyap with who Holi is associ-
ated.
Hiranyakashyap was a king in ancient India who was like a demon.
He wanted to take revenge for the death of his younger brother who
was killed by lord Vishnu. So to gain power, the king prayed for years.
He was finally granted a boon. But with this Hiranyakashyap started
considering himself god and asked his people to worship him like God.
But to his great disappointment, his son, prahlad became an ardent
devotee of Lord Naarayana (Vishnu). Despite his father’s order, Prahlad
continued to pray to Vishnu and refused to worship his father, so the
king demon wanted to kill his son.
Hiranyakashyap tried several ways to kill his son prahlad but Lord
Vishnu saved him every time. Finally, he asked his sister, Holika to en-
ter a blazing fire with prahlad in her lap. For, Hiranyakashyap knew that
Holika had a boon, whereby she could enter the fire unscathed. They
planned that prahlad would be burned to death. A pyre was lit up and
Holika sat on it, clutching Prahlad, Holika was not aware that the boon
worked only when she entered the fire alone. Yet, at the end prahlad
emerged unscathed by the fire. And Holika, the demon were burned
to ashes. Prahlad, who kept chanting the name of Lord Naarayana
(Vishnu) all this while, came out unharmed, as the lord blessed him for
his extreme devotion.
Thus, Holi derives its name from Holika.
Holi celebrations
Also, Holi is not a one day festival as celebrated in most of the
states in India, but is celebrated for 3 days.
Day 1- On full moon day (Holi purnima) coloured powder and wa-
ter are arranged in small brass pots on a thali. The celebration begins
with eldest male members who sprinkle colours on the members of his
family.
Day 2- This is also known as ‘Puno’ on this day Holika’s images are
burnt and people even light bonfires to remember the story of Holik
and Prahlad. Mother’s with their babies take 5 rounds of the bonfire in
a clockwise direction to seek the blessing of the god of fire.
Day 3- This day is known as ‘Parva’ and this is the last and final day
of Holi celebration. On this day coloured powder and water is poured
on each other. The deities of Radha and Krishna are worshipped and
smeared with colours.
But, how did colours became part of Holi? This dates back to the
period of Lord Krishna (reincarnation of Lord Vishnu). It is believed that
Lord Krishna used to celebrate Holi with colours and hence.
SSK TIMES Wishes you all a very bright, colour full and joy full holi.

HISTORY OF SOMAVAMSHA SAHASRARJUN KSHATRIYA
Solankis of Shri Sahasrarjun Vamsha
PANCHANGA SUMMARY
16. VISHAKHA NAKSHATRA - TULA RASHI.
Murlidharsa F. Kalburgi
It is written in the last issue about
(Parmar) Pratihar (Prahars) and chauhan
(ancestry of chavan) of Agnikula vamsha. A
brief description about the ancestry of solanki
of agnikula vamsha is also written. Yet several
contents about histories are to be accumulated.
The purpose of this article is to study more
about the ancestry of solanki and history of
agnikula vamsha. It has come to know that,
according to the Agnikula vamsha ancestry of
solanki was been sorted into two parts. One
is Suryavamsha Kshatriya Solanki families.
Second is (Chandra) somavamsha kshatriya
families. We can see these suryavamsha
kshatirya in the Maratha races of Maharashtra
and in the Rajput races of Rajasathan and
Jains of Gujarat and the can be seen in
Maharashtra and Karnataka. In our samaj
vamsha sahasrarjun kshatriya races, there
are several families in Gujarat, Andharpradesh
and Karnataka. The famous families that ruled
Badami are the chalukay and solanki families
of somavamsha. Badami (Vatapi) was their
capital. Pulkeshi-1, Pulkeshi-2, Vikramaditya
Mangalesh were the famous rulers. There are
histories that in Gujarat, Bhimadev the ruler
of solanki family, who belong to somavamsha,
built a very famous and a very rich Somanath
Shiva temple, which has very beautiful
artwork. There is a history that mohammed
Ghajani attacked 16 times on this temple
and robbed immense wealth. According to
same legislations and historians, they adduce
arguments that Badami solanki families have
migrated from Gujarat, Madhyapradesh and
Mandavgad. Yet, according to some legislation
and historians they argue that Badami solanki
families have migrated from Andhrapradesh.
In Andhrapradesh a region called vengi,
was their capital. It comes to know that
rulers of vengi were also called as
vengi chalukyas. So in Andhra the
solanki families of our Somavamsha
Sahasrarjum Kshatriya races are
called by the surnames Dalbanjan
or Dalabanjan. Today also Solanki
or Dalbanjan of Andhrapradesh are
found in large numbers. Several
historians are of the opinion that
southern solankis (Chalukyas) and
Solankis of Gujarat (Chalukyas) are of
one family.
Though some historians have
hinted that solankis are chalukyas,
the matter is still debated in some circles. It
seems true that the word “Chalukya” is gradual
modification of the word “Solanki” over a
period of time. The ancestors of chalukyas
seems migrated from Gujarat to Andhra.
Solanki => Solankia => Solakia => Solaki
=> Solanki => Solankia => Cholankya =>
Solankia => Solakya => Solakya => Salakya
=> Chalakya => Chalukya.
The temples Kiradu, about 43 kilometres
west of Barmar in Rajasthan are datable to
circa 1000 AD and later. They represent the
final achievement of the Gurjara-Praihara
school of the Nagara or north Indian style of
temple building before the ornate style known
as solaki (from the dominant Gujarat dynasty
of that application) took over in Western India.
Solaki and Solaki are some of the Indian
surnames today and they may related to the
solanki.

Respected Maate, Vittumoushi was a very famous great personality of S.S.K. Samaj in Karnataka. Karnataka as well as Maharashtra, Goa, A n d h r a p r a d e s h , Tamilnadu, Gujarat and Rajasthan of all races, devotees called her by the surtitle vittumaushi with utmost love. For all of them vittumaushi was a great spirit and a pure soul. (Holy Spirit). This Holy Spirit was born in Gudur a village in Hunagund taluka of Vijaypur district. The father respected Late. Shri Bhujingasa Dalbanjan, it is said that, he also had a mastery in astrology. The mother, Muktabai was from the family of Dalbanjan ( Gudur Patil ) Vittumaushi had a elder sister, Smt. Laxmibai and a younger sister Smt. Savitribai. She didn’t have brothers. Maate Vittumaushi’s father Shri Bhujingasa passed away. When she was about 3 years. Mother Muktabai B. Dalbanjan had a work of weaving the silk sarees, doing deliveries of babies and producing herbal medicines was her profession. Thus, she helped the people and took care of her 3 daughters, Hunagund taluka was their resident. Vittumaushi learnt up to 5th STD in Marathi medium of vijaypur along with the school studies, she also studied about astrology and she was specialist in it at a young age. At this young age she made Naagadevta as her adorable God By the grace of Shri Naagadevata Vittumaushi solved the difficulties and errors of the people who came to her. She used to see their kundali and tell the events exactly that took place in their life and find the errors in their kundali and told poojas to solve them. The devotees who performed pooja admired her saying that vittumaushi had made miracle by solving their difficulties. Gadag, Gulburga, Bellary, Sindhanur, Gangavati, Karatagi, Raichur, Haveri, Ranebennur, Harihar, Davangere, Bangalore, Mysore, Belgaum, Bagalkot, Vijaypur, Karwar, Dandeli in this way devotees from every corner of Karnataka came to maushi saying their difficulties and skimpiness and get understand the solution of it, by her. They performed the pooja as she explained, without any mistakes and got their work done successfully. Nowhere uncured diseases got completely cured by adoring Naagadevta, such several cases are there, and we should listen from those who have got experience. Accordingly the devotees who inquired difficulties about land, house, shop, factories, the massive buildings , at what time the devotees left the house i.e on time basis Maate Vittumaushi used to explain the difficulties or problems regarding the place, layout of the area, building as if she herself had seem it and gave a remedy for the error. The badi family of Bangalore said to moushi that, they are in difficulty as their home business was not going well. She said your time is good, within a year your business will do well and you have a chance to roam in your own car. It was a miracle and a true episode that, within a year they came in a car to meet maushi and to get her blessings. • 2. DATE : 05 - 03 - 2016SSK TIMES ENGLISH MONTHLY. GADAG2P Editorial PLAY ‘HOLI’ WITH SAFE COLOURS ‘Holi’ or ‘Phagwah’ is the most colourful festival celebrated on the full moon day falling in the month of phalguna ( Feb-Mar ). It is cel- ebrated as harvest festival as well as welcome festival for the spring season in India. It can be regarded as celebrated of colours of unity and brotherhood. Various colours and water are thrown on each other, admist loud music, drums etc to celebrate Holi. In some parts the celebrations are also associated with spring harvest. Farmers after seeing their stores being refilled with new crops celebrate Holi as part of their happiness, so Holi is also known as ‘vasant Mahotsava’ and ‘kama Mahotsava’. Holi also signifies a victory of good over evil. As per ancient mythol- ogy, there is a legend of king Hiranyakashyap with who Holi is associ- ated. Hiranyakashyap was a king in ancient India who was like a demon. He wanted to take revenge for the death of his younger brother who was killed by lord Vishnu. So to gain power, the king prayed for years. He was finally granted a boon. But with this Hiranyakashyap started considering himself god and asked his people to worship him like God. But to his great disappointment, his son, prahlad became an ardent devotee of Lord Naarayana (Vishnu). Despite his father’s order, Prahlad continued to pray to Vishnu and refused to worship his father, so the king demon wanted to kill his son. Hiranyakashyap tried several ways to kill his son prahlad but Lord Vishnu saved him every time. Finally, he asked his sister, Holika to en- ter a blazing fire with prahlad in her lap. For, Hiranyakashyap knew that Holika had a boon, whereby she could enter the fire unscathed. They planned that prahlad would be burned to death. A pyre was lit up and Holika sat on it, clutching Prahlad, Holika was not aware that the boon worked only when she entered the fire alone. Yet, at the end prahlad emerged unscathed by the fire. And Holika, the demon were burned to ashes. Prahlad, who kept chanting the name of Lord Naarayana (Vishnu) all this while, came out unharmed, as the lord blessed him for his extreme devotion. Thus, Holi derives its name from Holika. Holi celebrations Also, Holi is not a one day festival as celebrated in most of the states in India, but is celebrated for 3 days. Day 1- On full moon day (Holi purnima) coloured powder and wa- ter are arranged in small brass pots on a thali. The celebration begins with eldest male members who sprinkle colours on the members of his family. Day 2- This is also known as ‘Puno’ on this day Holika’s images are burnt and people even light bonfires to remember the story of Holik and Prahlad. Mother’s with their babies take 5 rounds of the bonfire in a clockwise direction to seek the blessing of the god of fire. Day 3- This day is known as ‘Parva’ and this is the last and final day of Holi celebration. On this day coloured powder and water is poured on each other. The deities of Radha and Krishna are worshipped and smeared with colours. But, how did colours became part of Holi? This dates back to the period of Lord Krishna (reincarnation of Lord Vishnu). It is believed that Lord Krishna used to celebrate Holi with colours and hence. SSK TIMES Wishes you all a very bright, colour full and joy full holi. Kalburgi It is written in the last issue about (Parmar) Pratihar (Prahars) and chauhan (ancestry of chavan) of Agnikula vamsha. A brief description about the ancestry of solanki of agnikula vamsha is also written. Yet several contents about histories are to be accumulated. The purpose of this article is to study more about the ancestry of solanki and history of agnikula vamsha. It has come to know that, according to the Agnikula vamsha ancestry of solanki was been sorted into two parts. One is Suryavamsha Kshatriya Solanki families. Second is (Chandra) somavamsha kshatriya families. We can see these suryavamsha kshatirya in the Maratha races of Maharashtra and in the Rajput races of Rajasathan and Jains of Gujarat and the can be seen in Maharashtra and Karnataka. In our samaj vamsha sahasrarjun kshatriya races, there are several families in Gujarat, Andharpradesh and Karnataka. The famous families that ruled Badami are the chalukay and solanki families of somavamsha. Badami (Vatapi) was their capital. Pulkeshi-1, Pulkeshi-2, Vikramaditya Mangalesh were the famous rulers. There are histories that in Gujarat, Bhimadev the ruler of solanki family, who belong to somavamsha, built a very famous and a very rich Somanath Shiva temple, which has very beautiful artwork. There is a history that mohammed Ghajani attacked 16 times on this temple and robbed immense wealth. According to same legislations and historians, they adduce arguments that Badami solanki families have migrated from Gujarat, Madhyapradesh and Mandavgad. Yet, according to some legislation and historians they argue that Badami solanki families have migrated from Andhrapradesh. In Andhrapradesh a region called vengi, was their capital. It comes to know that rulers of vengi were also called as vengi chalukyas. So in Andhra the solanki families of our Somavamsha Sahasrarjum Kshatriya races are called by the surnames Dalbanjan or Dalabanjan. Today also Solanki or Dalbanjan of Andhrapradesh are found in large numbers. Several historians are of the opinion that southern solankis (Chalukyas) and Solankis of Gujarat (Chalukyas) are of one family. Though some historians have hinted that solankis are chalukyas, the matter is still debated in some circles. It seems true that the word “Chalukya” is gradual modification of the word “Solanki” over a period of time. The ancestors of chalukyas seems migrated from Gujarat to Andhra. Solanki => Solankia => Solakia => Solaki => Solanki => Solankia => Cholankya => Solankia => Solakya => Solakya => Salakya => Chalakya => Chalukya. The temples Kiradu, about 43 kilometres west of Barmar in Rajasthan are datable to circa 1000 AD and later. They represent the final achievement of the Gurjara-Praihara school of the Nagara or north Indian style of temple building before the ornate style known as solaki (from the dominant Gujarat dynasty of that application) took over in Western India. Solaki and Solaki are some of the Indian surnames today and they may related to the solanki. To be continued ... The sixteenth star in the horoscopic chart is the Vishaka Nakshatra.
