selection, dosage, interactions, and side effects of medications
Pharmacists also keep computerized and detailed records of patient drug use and medical
profiles to ensure that patients won’t combine drugs and that they are following their
doctors’ instructions concerning dosage.
They also make sterile solutions for use in the emergency room and in surgical
procedures, purchase medical supplies, instruct interns, and perform administrative duties.
There is a demand for pharmacists who can consult physicians, health care
practitioners, and patients on the proper use of these new drugs.
Reflection
I could picture myself in the future reviewing prescriptions to assure accuracy, to
ascertain the needed ingredients, and to evaluate their suitability. I have an
investigative personality, so I would enjoy figuring out which medication and
prescription is best suited for the patient. I also work well with others which is a key
aspect to this career. In this career, you need to create relationships with patients and
other medical careers. This would be a quality of a career that would be a fit for me
because I am friendly and understanding. This career fits my work values because it
allows you to have some independence but skill work a lot with others. It also has a
high profit gain and in the career I would be helping others with their prescriptions.
7. Criminal Investigator
Description
Prepare reports that detail investigation findings.
Obtain and verify evidence by interviewing and observing suspects and witnesses or
by analyzing records.
Investigate organized crime, public corruption, financial crime, copyright
infringement, civil rights violations, bank robbery, extortion, kidnapping, and other
violations of federal or state statutes.
Investigate alleged or suspected criminal violations of Federal, state, or local laws to
determine if evidence is sufficient to recommend prosecution.
Collect and record physical information about arrested suspects, including
fingerprints, height and weight measurements, and photographs.
Record evidence and documents, using equipment such as cameras and photocopy
machines.
Reflection
I would be interested in this career for my future because I like to solve problems and
find their solutions. I also like to observe things and investigate. I also work well
with others and can work well with a group. I am also organized so I would be able
to create organized and detailed reports. I also like this career because it is interesting
and when you are working everyday is not the same thing over and over but is a
different problem that you have to solve. This career also incorporates my qualities
because I would be helping the community fight crime and figure out the criminal in
the case. I also would be using my creativity to create the crime scene the way it had
happened to figure out different suspects and their action in the crime.
8. Police Detective
Description
Conduct investigations to prevent crimes or solve criminal cases.
Provide testimony as a witness in court
Secure deceased body and obtain evidence from it, preventing bystanders from
tampering with it prior to medical examiner's arrival
Examine crime scenes to obtain clues and evidence, such as loose
hairs, fibers, clothing, or weapons.

I am interested in this career because I like to solve problems and am investigative. I
like to get involved in problems to find the solution. I also work well with others so I
would be able to obtain evidence from suspects. I am also good a paying close
attention to detail. I like this career because I like to find out different pieces of
information and put them together to create the final conclusion. This career would
cooperate with my lifestyle choices because I like to solve problems and find their
solution and to be successful which is a huge part of being a police detective.
9. School Psychologists
Description
Compile and interpret students' test results, along with information from
teachers and parents, to diagnose conditions, and to help assess eligibility for
special services.
Counsel children and families to help solve conflicts and problems in learning
and adjustment.
Interpret test results and prepare psychological reports for
teachers, administrators, and parents.

Reflection
I like this career for a future career because I like to work with others. Working
with others is one of my work values that I would like in my future career. I
also like to interpret different situations and people to figure out what is wrong
and how to help and work with them. I also like to solve conflicts and interpret
testing results. I can then organize reports will the results I concluded.
10. Optometrist
Description
Examine eyes, using observation, instruments and pharmaceutical agents, to
determine visual acuity and perception, focus and coordination and to diagnose
diseases and other abnormalities such as glaucoma or color blindness.
Prescribe medications to treat eye diseases.
Prescribe, supply, fit and adjust eyeglasses, contact lenses and other vision aids.

arrangements and safety factors.

Reflection
I could see myself as an optometrist for a career because I like biology and I am
investigative. I would enjoy working with others because I have good people
skills. I am also intelligent so I would be able to prescribe the most helpful
solutions to a persons eye problem. I am good at critical thinking so I would be
able to apply logic and reasoning to problems. This career requires being
accurate which would be a fit to my personality.
11. Nurse Practitioner
Description
Prescribe medication dosages, routes, and frequencies based on patients'
characteristics such as age and gender.
Order, perform, or interpret the results of diagnostic tests such as complete blood
counts (CBCs), electrocardiograms (EKGs), and radiographs (x-rays).
Analyze and interpret patients' histories, symptoms, physical findings, or diagnostic
information to develop appropriate diagnoses.
Nurses work in hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics, schools, corporations, and
sometimes even in businesses of their own.
Nurse practitioners can even make diagnoses and write prescriptions.
The outlook for the future is bright, as the demand for qualified nurses far exceeds the
supply in the health care industry.
Reflection
A nurse practitioner would be a future career that I would be interested in. I
know how to work well with others and would able to handle their situations.
Organization is key in this career because you need to order and preform tests
and create reports with the results. I would be able to stay organized to be
successful in writing up reports. I am also good at analyzing different findings
and information.
