2. The markets closed red today. Sensex close down 42.29 falls 0.21% and the Nifty close
up 9.75 falls 0.16%, after marking its highest level in February, as telecom companies
such as Idea Cellular slumped after prices in a mobile spectrum auction rose, raising
worries about their profit margins. According to a report by Standard & Poor’s Even as
economic growth is expected to rebound, banks in India are likely to remain “subdued”
on the growth, profitability and asset quality fronts. IDEA provisionally slumped 8.5%.
