  3. 3. Services Services Green IT Assessments Full Green IT Assessment A Green IT Assessment provides you with a list of activities and practices that will have the biggest impact on your IT environmental footprint. Based on our project methodology and green IT framework, we provide you with a report describing the opportunities for improvement with many steps that are immediately actionable. We recommend a follow up to take place 1 year from the initial assessment completion. Basic Energy and Paper Consumption Assessment This useful assessment provides you with a measurement of the current energy consumption of your department’s monitors, printers, copiers as well as your paper consumption. We will provide you with a detailed report of your results, which your organization can use to set targets and engage and encourage your employees. We will provide energy and paper consumption totals as well as breakdowns (i.e. per workstation). These numbers give you hard data to use as a baseline as you move forward with energy reduction efforts.
  4. 4. Services cont… Services Green IT Strategy and Implementation Green IT Strategy One of the keys to implementing a successful green IT program is setting the initial course. A green IT strategy lays out the vision for and approach to the program, which will assist in making decisions later on. The strategy also describes the progression from the easy-to-implement practices to those that require allocation of resources. Internal Green IT Training (Coaching/Webinars/Workshops) Customized for your organization, Terrabytes offers full day seminars, webinars, and coaching, to teach internal staff how to complete a green IT assessment and maintain your green IT program. Business Analysis and Documentation By listening, asking questions, and carefully analyzing and documenting your current operations, we can determine the appropriate technology to meet your needs and provide useful recommendations for procurement. Good documentation is the key to smooth operations when there is a lack of internal resources, high turnover or low tolerance for technology. We provide clear, concise, useful documentation to assist you with procedures, decision analysis and reporting.
  5. 5. Why do a green IT assessment? Know how IT effects your organization’s environmental footprint Know your potential for environmental improvement and cost savings Know which initiatives to pursue as a priority Identify way technology can help green your organization Establish a baseline before implementing new practices, so you can measure your efforts Your baseline will allow you to demonstrate the success of your program down the road The numbers produced will enable you to engage employees much more effectively and be useful in annual reports and PR efforts

We will follow up with a proposal based on the information you provide us with during this session. The typical steps to set up a full green IT program are: 1) Green IT Assessment (audit of current practices and consumption) 2) Strategy (based on immediate, low-cost results and longer-term projects) 3) Implementation (project management and employee training) 4) Employee Engagement/Communications (custom communications plan and tools to engage staff) 5) Follow up assessment (typically, one year after initial assessment, to measure success) * Terrabytes can lead your team through any one of, or all of, these stages.
