2. Career:
I studied at the Tietgenskolen in Odense to be a Datamatician in 1998 and Since then I have
been working in IT-related positions. As Systems Responsible for planning systems and ERP-
system on the Odense Steel Ship Yard through some years during my employment at Mærsk
Data and IBM, a job that covered databases, software development and maintenance as well
as systems administration. From 2005 until start of 2015, I have worked free lance, mostly
developing and configuring passenger information systems for public transportation on
embedded platforms. 2015 has largely been committed to learning Elasticsearch.
2015 Rigsarkivet
Creating software to allow feeding large amounts of archive data
and metadata through a funnel for enriching the data for
increased findability. Fast.
Using elasticsearch, python and debian packaging
2014 Focon A/S
Various tasks but most notably the version control of type testing
software used across the world by subcontractors – a quick
solution that had crucial value in terms of traceability
Using subversion, svnsync and python
2010-2015 Focon A/S
Development of embedded infotainment systems for trains.
I have worked in
1) the clients (video capable infotainment displays with or
without embedded browser technology) and
2) the servers (small footprint linux servers with video streaming
capabilities).
3)the deployment – how to update in the field, burn the images
into the hardware – all with the help of debian packages.
I have designed the solutions, using up to date open source
technologies. I have also been the main developer doing most of
the work on these systems.
The solutions incorporate technologies like
HTML, Python, C/C++, HTTP live streaming, UDP streaming,
dpkg
2009-2010 Focon A/S
3. Integration of https protocol into train controller software.
I designed and implemented a solution to make trains able to
communicate with the land side over https.
Using C, C++, Python, Visual Studio, LibCurl
2009 Focon A/S
Adaptation of standard software for train information displays
(LED)
Same software in different display types, different sizes and
multi colored displays.
I adapted the display handling module to handle triple RGB
LEDS.
Using C, C++, Python, Gnu tools
2008 Focon A/S
Development of new standard software for train information
displays.
My task was to design and program modules for screen and font
handling operations, scrolling fields and different types of
communications and test software.
Using C, C++, Python, Gnu tools
2007-2010 Prosa
Maintenance, support and customizations of a Zope/Plone
based CMS with member database for a Danish trade union and
its integration with the unemployment benefit system, the web
portal and the job database.
The work has covered all adaptation and consolidation across
operating system (BSD) and applications (Zope, Cas, Apache
and Postfix)
I have designed deployment procedures and initiated the
separation into 3 environments, test, development and
production.
2006 Odense Steel Shipyard
Windows-based File broker in threaded C++.
4. Backend file broker system feeding MS SQL data for the shop
floor pipe production system, bending data, geometrical data
and cutting data from ERP and CAD systems.
I designed and implemented the system as well as the interfaces
to the CAD system and substantial parts of the interfaces
towards the ERP system.
Using COM/DCOM, C++, BaaN
2006 Odense Steel Shipyard
Intranet Search Engine for support of developers and helpdesk
personnel.
After in-sourcing it was no longer possible to avoid solving the
same helpdesk issue several times, because it was impossible
to find the already made solution.
I designed and implemented a full text indexing and search for
the IT department.
Using open source components like Swish-e, Apache, Perl and
Shell scripts.
2005-2007 Odense Steel Shipyard
Education of new IT-staff after in-sourcing.
I trained 6 new employees to maintain the ERP and planning
systems
The training formed a stepwise takeover of the ownership of the
systems and ongoing tasks, gradually reducing my responsibility
and leadership
The training covered maintenance, development, source control,
release management, tests, specifications and technologies like
C, C++, BaaN, Awk, Informix, Ingres and Gnu tools, mainly on
SUN Solaris.
2002-2005 Mærsk Data / IBM
Consultant, ERP integrator
In the timespan from 2002-05 I took part in several ERP
integrations and customizations for external customers
Using BaaN
2002-2003 Mærsk Data Industries
5. Part of an initiative for Industrial IT in Mærsk Data industries.
The Project surfaced after restructuring of MD and aimed at
building up competencies in the SRO area, primarily using
wonderware products.
I covered Convention presentations and delivered the first
solution to a customer in the medical business.
Using WonderWare InTrack, Ms SQL server, C++ and Visual
Studio.
1999-2005 Mærsk Data / IBM
Team member in the support team for the ERP systems on
Odense Steel Shipyard.
The work covered maintenance and development of new
facilities in the application and database, release management
and patching.
Using BaaN, C, Informix, Shell scripts on Unix
1998-2005 Mærsk Data / IBM
Systems manager for planning systems on Odense Steel
Shipyard
I maintained the planning systems, programmed new modules,
handled releases, the build system and the database supported
source-repository
Using C, Ingres, Ingres ABF, Ingres Reports, Motif, Xlib on Unix
1996-1998 Student at the Tietgenskolen, Odense
From January 1996 to May 1998 I studied at the Tietgenskolen
in Odense and got the Datamatatiaon degree – a degree aimed
at providing practical ‘workhorses’ to the industry through an
education balanced between theory and practical excercises.
My final speciality was that of control and measurement.
1990-1998 Working steel construction / taking extra courses
This period I worked in steel construction as well as taking some
extra math, chemistry and physics courses to facilitate further
education
1987-1990 Smith (Steel Constructor / Ship Builder ) training
I trained for a Smith/Steel Constructor at Svendborg Steel Ship
Yard, an education aimed at outfitting ships as well as producing
6. components like hatches, ladders, chimneys, various piping and
ventilation.
1984-1987 Welder
After a short line of welding courses at the local metal workers
school, I was hired as a an untrained welder at Svendborg Steel
Ship Yard. During the following time I became proficient in
welding all positions, plate and pipe using MAG, TIG as well as
Arc welding.
1981-1984 Travelling, odd jobs and generally having a good time
After High School I travelled Europe on a shoe string a couple of
times, worked here and there as this and that, mostly in
Denmark.
1978-1981 High School / Gymnasium in Svendborg
Specializing in spoken languages this period gave me little more
than good knowledge of languages as German, English and
some Russian, which I studied for all 3 years.
