Fish bowl picture
1. Johnny has always loved doing science experiments, so when his mother took him to Petland to
get some pet fish he knew this was as good of time as any to begin a new experiment. The pet
specialist at Petland insisted that if Johnny wanted more than a few goldfish he would have to
get two bowls so that there would be enough room for the fish. So, Johnny chose what seemed
to be the mother fish and four children fish. When Johnny arrived home with his fish he began
setting it up. He decided he would put the mother fish in a bowl by herself and the four children
in the other bowl together. Johnny set up his camera system that snaps consecutive
photographs so he could monitor the fish while he was away. At first he just wanted to see how
the mother fish and the children fish acted on individual levels. He was curious whether or not
the mother fish would even care that she was by herself, and just how much attention she paid
to the other fish. After a few weeks of observations, Johnny was getting bored. He wanted to
spice things up. Johnny got a demented idea to just stop feeding the mother fish, but continue
feeding the children fish and see what kind of effect it would have on her. The mother fish
began hitting the sides of the bowl, ramming into the bowl, splashing water, desperate. Every
day she would watch Johnny feed the children. Then one day, after she just couldn't take it
anymore, the mother fish began jumping out of the bowl. The first few attempts consisted of
the mother fish getting acceleration and zooming straight up out of the water and into the air a
few inches. Two days of the same attempt and the mother fish began to catch on. She realized
that by going at an angle, she would be able to shoot herself over to the other bowl. After
getting herself pumped up, running on nothing but reserves, the mother shot up out of the
bowl, water flying everywhere. Snap! Snap! The perfect photograph. Turns out the mother fish
overshot the children’s bowl and landed right in Johnny’s tennis shoe. That morning, Johnny
was not aware the mother fish was not present and did not check the footage before jamming
his foot right into his sneaker and turning the mother fish into a pile of mush. The moral of the
story: always check your shoe before putting it on.
