Walker Evans was an American photographer born in 1903 who was influenced by photographers such as Alfred Stieglitz, Paul Strand, Eugene Atget, and August Sander. He is known for his work for the Farm Security Administration documenting the effects of the Great Depression as well as collaborating with writer James Agee on the book Let Us Now Praise Famous Men.
