1. Dear Mr. Pink,
I just finished "A Whole New Mind" and I used "Johnny Bunko" as the assigned reading
text for a college level class I taught for Elementary Art Specialists. I love both of these
books. I am an art teacher. I have won 7 teaching awards including Art Educator of the
Year for the state of Utah. Here is my story:
A few months ago I was driving up the canyon and I was clipped from behind by a two
ton utility truck. I spun out of control, my car rolled and I was shot out the drivers side
window (I WAS wearing my seat belt everybody!!!!) I broke two ribs, crushed my arm,
got multiple cuts and stitches and my ear was cut off. I tried to find a male prostitute to
give my ear to, but couldn't find one. So I just had them sew it back on.
While recovering, I finished my graphic novel (six years now), and I started writing down
all my lesson plans. I started a website and a blog. By my picture on the home page, I
did have a braggy little ditty about all the teaching awards that I have won. After reading
"A Whole New Mind" I'm going to change that part to "My Story".
My dream is to give even little kids a chance to create something beautiful. I can't
physically teach art to the masses anymore. I'm trying something new and I hope it
works. Your books inspire me and if you want you can check out my new website:
