Start By:
a. Remove track drive. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Track Drive - Remove".
Note: The following procedure is intended for cleaning purposes only.
Illustration 1 g00882206
Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a
released spring force.
Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment.
Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to
release the spring force.
1. Mark the piston motor for assembly purposes. Remove bolts (1). Remove cover (2).

2. Remove gasket (3).
3. Remove washer (4). Remove disc spring (5). Remove fitting (6).
4. Install Tooling (H). Use low pressure compressed air to remove piston (7).
Note: Low pressure air is required in order to allow the piston to release from the motor.
Note: Tooling (H) is required in order to prevent damage to the piston.

5. Remove seal (8) from piston (7).
6. Remove bolts (9). Remove brake housing (10).

7. Use Tooling (A) to remove seal (11) from brake housing (10).
8. Remove discs (12) from the outer spline. Remove discs (13) from the inner spline. Remove
shim (14). Remove O-ring seal (15).

Note: Observe the shaft's direction.
9. Remove shaft (16).
10. Remove fittings (19). Remove bolts (18). Remove rear case (17).

11. Use Tooling (B) to remove distributor (20) from rear case (17). Remove springs (21).
Remove pin (22). Remove O-ring seals (23).
12. Block distributor (20). Use Tooling (C) to remove bushing (24).

13. Remove O-ring seal (25). Remove O-ring seal (26). Remove O-ring seal (27).
14. Remove plug (28). Remove O-ring seal (29).

15. Remove plug (34). Remove O-ring seal (33). Remove spring (32).
16. Remove washer (31). Remove spool (30).
17. Remove plug (38). Remove O-ring seal (37). Remove spring (36).
18. Remove washer (35).

19. Remove cam ring (39).
20. Remove rotor (40). Remove O-ring seal (41).

21. Use Tooling (D) to remove retaining ring (42). Remove washer (43). Repeat Step 21 for the
other side.
Note: Return the piston to the original bore.
22. Remove piston (44) from rotor (40). Remove O-ring seal (45) and roller (46) from piston
(44).

23. Use Tooling (E) to remove split ring (47).
24. Remove washer (48).
25. Block front case (49). Use a suitable press to remove spindle (50).

26. Block spindle (50). Use a suitable press to remove studs (51).
27. Remove seal (52) from spindle (50).
28. Use Tooling (F) and Tooling (G) to remove bearing cone (53).

29. Remove bearing cone (54).
30. Remove seal (56). Remove bearing cup (55).
31. Remove seal (58). Remove bearing cup (57). Remove plug (59).

a. Remove the motor.

1. Remove nut (1) and valve (2)
2. Remove O-ring seal (3), backup ring (4), O-ring seal (5), backup ring (6), O-ring seal (7),
and O-ring seal (8) from valve (2).

3. Use a suitable press in order to remove retaining ring (9) and lock (10).
4. Remove housing (11).
5. Remove the O-ring seal from housing (11).
6. Remove springs (12).

7. Use Tooling (A) in order to remove retaining ring (13).
8. Remove piston (14).
9. Use Tooling (A) in order to remove retaining ring (15).
11. Remove spring (17).

12. Use a suitable press in order to remove pin (18).
13. Remove valve (19).
14. Remove the spring from valve (19).
15. Remove seals (20).

17. Remove seals (22).
18. Remove radial motor (23).

19. Use a suitable press, Tooling (B), Tooling (C), and Tooling (D) in order to remove retaining
ring (24).
20. Remove shim (25).
21. Use a suitable press and Tooling (C) in order to remove shaft (26).
22. Remove bearing cone (27).

3. Remove plug (5).
4. Remove O-ring seal (8) from plug (5).
5. Remove spring (7) and spool (6).
6. Repeat Step 4 for opposite side.
