1. Auto Biography
Why I want to pursue a career in Industrial
Engineering.
Two wonderful El Salvadorian parents raised
me, and having witnessed all the struggles
and conflicts that they bear on my behalf, and
because many people still are not well open
to immigrant families, my life has been
greatly impacted. Because of it all going to college has been a priority in my life since I
entered high school, I knew that it was the only pathway I could take after high school or
rather that there was no other option.
When I turned 16, I became more involved with organizations in my church.
I was a teacher for kids in kindergarten, and then became secretary of the youth ministry.
Everything I experienced as there were key factors that made me who I am today. I struggled
very much within it, had many complications with the leaders above me, and ended up
leaving the church with my whole family in search for a new one. Whenever I look back, I
think of everything that went wrong and what could have been done instead. Through it all, I
learned many things about how to run an organization, and developed a business mindset and
leadership characteristics.
In the meantime, I was in my senior year striving to finish high school, also
serving my peers as class president. Everything I learned in my position at that time further
impacted who I became. One thing that still I keep in mind is that a leader is one who cares
about his people. That alone helped me figure out that I had a great passion for helping
people, especially Hispanics, prosper in life.
2. This series of events helped me realize that what I wanted in life was to help
build people, communities, and nations. To help develop societies in need of help, simply by
ameliorating their education. I then learned that the only way this could happen is if I could
build systems that they could easily follow, so I decided that since I was talented in math,
industrial engineering would be the best option for me. Through it I will be able to determine
how to improve problems in many countries simply by creating systems
