2. LA FUNCIÓN DE REPRODUCCIÓN Los tipos de reproducción pueden ser asexual o sexual. En la reproducción asexual solo interviene un individuo. Por ejemplo: En los seres unicelulares. En algunos invertebrados sencillos. En muchas plantas.

LA REPRODUCIÓN SEXUAL EN LOS ANIMALES En la reproducción sexual intervienen dos individuos (excepto en los seres hermafroditas que tienen los dos sexos), uno que tenga los órganos reproductores masculinos y otro los femeninos. La reproducción sexual tiene tres fases: La producción de gametos: Ovarios, si es femenino. Testículos, si es masculino. La fecundación: Puede ser de dos tipos: Externa. Interna. El desarrollo del cigoto: Ovípara. Vivípara.

LA REPRODUCCIÓN SEXUAL DE LAS ESPERMATOFITAS En las espermatofitas, la reproducción se produce en tres fases: Polinización y fecundación: Polinización: Se realiza mediante los animales y el viento. Fecundación: Es la unión del gameto masculino y femenino. Formación del fruto y la semilla: Tras realizar la fecundación, el pistilo engorda y se forma el fruto, y en su interior está la semilla rodeada por sustancias alimenticias. Germinación de la semilla: Cuando el fruto queda enterrado y se descompone, la semilla germina; primero aparecen raíces, luego sale el tallo y pequeñas hojas y se forma una nueva planta.
