He was born and raised on Maryland's Eastern Shore and enjoys creating art reflecting one of nature’s most beautiful canvases...the ocean. Jazz enjoys using recycled items to create unique 3D nautical inspired pieces of art. Jazz's attraction to the water has had a strong impact on his work as an artist. Jazz works primarily with oil paints and frequently joins the pigments with discarded materials and found objects. This gives Jazz the unique opportunity to create truly one-of-a-kind 3D landscapes using recycled products. Gathering "thrown out" materials from local beaches allows Jazz to keep our beaches clean as well as create beautiful pieces of art for others to enjoy. He sees each piece of art he creates as an exploration of the space between the canvas and the dimension of imagination and association simulated within the viewer. Jazz graduated from Brown University and pursued an earlier career in organizational behavior science. During that time, art became an integral part of his life. Jazz is also an actor and a producer. He appeared in Disney's "Secretariat" in 2010. You can also look for him in the upcoming movie Wild Oats with Demi Moore, Shirley MacLaine and Jessica Lange. Jazz and his fiancée Maureen Mountcastle enjoy producing short and feature-length projects via their company Varsity Films.
