Dear Dr. Fazal,
Sub: MES activities at 24 Parganas District of West Bengal.
As directed by you, I have visited Harimkhola Bazar of 24 Parganas District
where we have laid the foundation stone for the Hospital. I appreciate your decision
to choose the Village of West Bengal for our welfare activities outside Kerala. These
villages are so backward and they are behind us 40 years. No proper roads to
there or the medical facilities. The medical facilities are available 30 kms away
from the villages. The Government, Public Health Centres (PHC) are not working
properly as the posted doctors are not visiting the PHC regularly. The elementary
schools are working but the awareness of education among the villages are very
poor. So the drop outs of the students is common. Most of the villagers are living in
the huts and no sanitation is there. Drinking water is also a problem. Most of them
are farmers and the daily earnings is below Rs.150/-.
The functioning of Human Care Foundation
The Human Care Foundation is active in villages since last two years. Their
volunteers from our State are doing a good job. They stay in the village and speak
Bengali and live like one among them. Abdul Nazar and his team is doing wonderful
job by taking tuition to the students, helping to form self help group among village
women. The Human Care Foundation have constructed more than 100 houses in
the village, has increasing the acceptance of their work. By the grace of the
Almighty within 5 years, the Harimkhola village shall develop in all respects and a
team among from the villages will lead the development of other surrounding
Villages.
Hospital Project
The 22 cents land donated by Jb. Abdul Nayeem is located very near to the
market area. The plan of the building for a sq. feet of 2400 is almost finalized at a

2. cost of Rs………… (Copy of the plan is attached for your approval). One Supervisor
from our side may be posted there.
School Projects
As decided 5 school projects around Harinkhola village may be started. The
land is available by lease/donation. To start, I suggest only temporary building
shall be made and if the students are there we may go for permanent one later.
The teachers advertisement is given by Human Care Foundation and more than 600
applications is received. So an immediate arrangement of the schools are to be
done.
By handing with Human Care Foundation MES can develop the education &
Health aspects of the villagers of West Bengal and thus extend our vision of
community development in other States of the country.
