So, what has initiated their motives to start this business is their passion in this field. They enjoy themselves in handling this business. They were exposed to pets when they were young. They find that grooming is self-fulfilling and challenging. During our interview session, they also told us that, they do face hardships when they first started their business, but passion is what keeps them until today and trained them to be persistence.
Good afternoon everyone, I am Yong Yi - Now, im going to elaborate on the competition strategy of both pets shop. - As you know PAWSOME pet shop is a small scale business. It just started in the year 2014( two thousand and fourteen) , counted as quite new to the market. - Thus not many people know them. - On the other hand, Pets Wonderland is large scale business. - Many people know them as they have been operated for more than 10 years. - They also have more than 10 branches in klang valley.
So how advertisement helps in their business. For PAWSOME , they used ethical principle to advertise their business. - By providing good service to the customers and pets, people will tend to recommend them to others. - So, customer recommendation is one of the advertisement that help to improve their business. - Indirectly, they advertise themselves by giving good services to every customers. - They also advertise themselve by posting some picture on facebook for reference to customer. - For pets wonderland, they are using social media to advertise themselve - For example, they have their own website and facebook page.
The other competition strategy is pricing. - The quantity ordered of their product is lesser. So, their cost is higher. But for the grooming services, they are cheaper compared to other competitors. - The owner try to put their price as low as possible. So, they usually make promotion like buy 3 free 1 to cover back the cost. - On the other hand, Pets wonderland is a large scale business so usually they will order their product in bulk. So, the cost is lower. - Their price for grooming services is also reasonable. Customer usually can afford it and satisfied with it. - They sell their products in a lower price as their stocks are in bulk and their cost for the products is lower.
The other competition strategy is based on their product variety. - The product variety of pawsome pet shop is less because their business is small now. - They don’t have budget to buy more variety of product. - But, they make self-made raw food to be different with others. - Instead, the product variety of pets wonderland is more because they are affordable to buy products in bulk as they have many branches in klang valley.
As I know, not many pet shop provides boarding services. - pawsome pet shop provide it but pets wonderland not - The owner of pawsome said, one of the reason for them to provide this service is because they want to provide a comfortable place for pets to stay instead of just a small cage. - But, pets wonderland dint provide this boarding service
Beside that, one of a market strategy for pawsome is giving promotion - They will give free gifts when you spend above hundred and fifty bucks . - Furthermore, they will also give tester to pets owner to try on their products. - Offer membership is one of the market strategy for pets wonderland to attract customers. - They will also fulfil the demand of the particular area. - For example, if the place got more Malay, they will provide more variety of cats food and products because malay loves cats. - Beside that, they also offer vet consultation service. - Due to small scale of business, pawsome do not have…...... - For pets wonderland, every branches has different hot-selling quantity depend on the area. - For instance, if the area has more cat owners, the branch will provide more variety of ready stock on cats products.
- Overall, pets wonderland is more commercially successful compared to pawsome pet shop. - Because they have good marketing strategy such as advertisement, more variety of product and so on. - They achieved significant milestones and achievements in different areas. - For example, they expand quickly to various location. - Moreover, pets wonderland is the first to bring in mini zoo concept. - Mini zoo concepts consists of a mixed range of local and foreign pet supplies. - Pets wonderland has many branches in various location but pawsome only have one. - Pets wonderland is well known by local residents, foreign expatriates, as well as overseas royal families. - Hence, pets wonderland is more commercially successful. - So , I will pass it to my friend to talk about the recommendations
The relationship between the workers for PAWSOME are family members. They are actually twin sisters (Melissa and Christian) whereas pets wonderland workers are mostly employee. There are no relatives working as employee.

Before I end our presentation, I would like to suggest some recommendations in improving their businesses. Well, for #1, the limited workforce has caused them to accept limited grooming service per day. - As if they increases and hire more workers, they could have done more services and income- Next, #1 is new and not many people know about their existence.- They should have deisgned and printed flyers and make some promotions to attract cust- They can distribute flyers around the area-Lastly, they have very less variety of products. The limited choices might cause the buyers to go purchase from other competitors.
Attract cust/ diff stocks
Well for the sec pet shop PW- PW is a well known pet shop , the no of workers is a lot. Thus, it is important to maintain the quality of workers in every branches- They should provide training to new workers -maintain Q&RNext, it is not enough even pw is famous among the people in this area, they should have designed promotion using banners and paste around the AREA to attract more people.
Lastly, pw should have improve themselves to be better. They should have provide BS or veterinary to compete with other competitors.- Diff variety of stocks, products and services can make a big impact to a business.
