It was the beginning of the year and after a reduction in force, employee moral was slipping away and fast. I felt something needed to happen to bring back the unity and passion that was no longer present on the manufacturing floor. The results were beyond what I could have expected, Not only was employee moral lifted during this week long game, quality failures decreased by 53% and production output increased by 27%. I created the Manufacturing Superbowl Game, manufacturing was going to compete against the Superbowl teams. Our sore had to be higher than theirs combined. If we won, the company would provide a hot meal, for everyone. We won! All who could participate did. People went out of their way to help each other (it was a union shop). Relationships were strengthened; New relationships developed. It was an incredible thing to be a part of, but better yet, to watch happen. I hope the information I've shared can be beneficial to those who decide to use it. Please note, this is more or less a template. I do not promise anyone the same results I received. Feel free to contact me with questions, I will do my best to answer them. I should share a little secret, I had no idea what was involve in football prior to implementing this game. I just knew something had to happen. I used the information I gathered from the employees by being directly involved with others, in all areas, to determine what was needed to lift moral, the possible solutions hat would ignite passion and ran with that. 4. Group Leaders are the coaches.
1st point of contact. Responsible for team plays and actions.
Holds team accountable for actions and ensures integrity.
Maintains score for the area.
Communicates issues that will effect team and production
negatively to the team and referees.
PSE are the assistant coaches.
Responsible for assisting coaches when necessary.
Will communicate with coach prior to directing any plays.
PTLs are the cheerleaders.
Responsible for cheering from the sidelines.
Providing a committed weekly build plan.
Owner of paperwork and systemic responsibilities.

be support staff, when requested by coaches.
