It was the beginning of the year and after a reduction in force, employee moral was slipping away and fast. I felt something needed to happen to bring back the unity and passion that was no longer present on the manufacturing floor. The results were beyond what I could have expected, Not only was employee moral lifted during this week long game, quality failures decreased by 53% and production output increased by 27%. I created the Manufacturing Superbowl Game, manufacturing was going to compete against the Superbowl teams. Our sore had to be higher than theirs combined. If we won, the company would provide a hot meal, for everyone. We won! All who could participate did. People went out of their way to help each other (it was a union shop). Relationships were strengthened; New relationships developed. It was an incredible thing to be a part of, but better yet, to watch happen.
