5. v 26-28: Gabriel appears to Mary telling her that she
was going to give birth to a child
v 29: Mary was troubled & questioned Gabriel
v 30-33: Gabriel told Mary she has found favour with
God
v 34: Mary questioned how could it be so as she was
still a virgin
v 35-36: Gabriel said that it is the work of the Holy Spirit
v 38: Mary replied she is the Lord’s servant

7. v 39: Mary then visits Elizabeth
v 41: When Elizabeth hears Mary’s greeting, the
unborn child inside Elizabeth’s womb leapt with joy
v 43: Elizabeth prophesies that Mary will be “the
mother of my Lord”
v 46-55: Mary rejoiced with a song of praise known
as the Magnificat or Mary’s Song
