• Simulate Browsers

    1. 1. Simulate User Interaction: Visual Recording and Replay
    2. 2. Classical Browser Activities

Insert data in online forms

Click buttons

Save Pages

File Download

Image Download

Print

Clear Browser cache

    3. 3. Inserting Data into an Online Form:
    4. 4. Save Web Pages

Internet Macros can save web pages in different formats:

Complete Web Page (HTML page plus images)

Archive format (Everything in one file)

HTM only (no images)

Text

Screenshot*

Use the “Save Page” button for all options

Command: SAVEAS TYPE=... FOLDER=... FILE=....

    5. 5. Save Web Page Screenshot
    6. 6. File Download:

Internet Macros automatically detects downloads.

Start a download while you are in RECORD mode.

The next time you will replay the recorded file, the download will start automatically.

Increase the web page timeout value as it should be enough to cover the complete download .

    7. 7. Automatically Downloading a File:
    8. 8.

To download an image, switch to Record Mode.

Navigate to the page and select the required image in the web browser window.

Press "Save item".

The item download window opens.

If you want the selection, press “ok”.

If you want to select another image, select it and the item download window is updated automatically.

Image Downloads
    9. 9.

The downloaded files or images are copied to the Internet Macros download directory.

If an image with the same name is already present in the Internet Macros download directory, Internet Macros will automatically replace it without user intervention.

Tip: To increase download speed, the downloaded images are taken from the browser cache (if available). If you do not want this, use CLEAR to clear the cache or use the SAVEPICTUREAS event.

Saving Files or Images:
    10. 10. Save Image Screenshot
    11. 11.

Internet Macros provides the feature of automatically starting printing of documents.

The “PRINT” command triggers a print dialog.

The dialog manager asks you to select a specific printer.

By using ONPRINT command present in the Macro you can use a printer of your choice. In the example, P=3, the third printer is used.

If "P=" with no other value, the default printer is used.

Printing with Macros:
    12. 12. Password Security

There are three ways to handle passwords:

No Encryption

The password is stored inside the macro in plain text.

SET !ENCRYPTION NO

Encrypted web site password:

Passwords are encrypted by a key ("Master Password") that is stored on your own computer in the Internet Macros Setting file (iim.ini).

SET !ENCRYPTION STOREDKEY

Encrypted web site passwords AND ask for the Master Password each time the macro is run

The Master password is not stored, but kept temporarily in memory.

You must re-enter it every time you start Internet Macros

SET !ENCRYPTION TMPKEY

    13. 13. Choosing the Best ClickMode

Automatic : Internet Macros attempts to choose the best recording options (recommended in most cases).

Use URL: The link is detected by its URL. If the URL changes each time you visit a page (“session ID”), this option is not recommended unless you replace the changing part of the URL with an "*".

Use Name: The link is identified by its name. This works well in most cases, except when there are several links with the same name on a page.

Use XY: The link is identified by its position on the Web page.

WINCLICK : This is the ultimate solution if everything else fails and for advanced web technologies such as Java and Flash.

    14. 14. Demo:

Create macro that submits a website to Google

Download “User Java Runtime” from

Automate a search on MSN for a fixed keyword and save the result page.
