TRANSPORTATION?
Togoto el delta, thebesttransportisthe car,
becausethere are 2.30h from Barcelona to el
delta de l’Ebre. Within el delta, you can
easilygobybicyclebecauseitis a flat zone. You
can alsogowalkingtothe places
thataren’tveryfarawayfromwhereyou are.
And, of course, you can alsogoby car.
FOOD?
White beanscookedwith a recipethat
combines regional specialtysausagewithbeef,
bread, eggs and whitebeans, ispart of
therange of specialtiestogetherwiththe
“stew”, beefcombinedwith a thick sauce.
FAUNA?
Thediversehabitats and thehumid and
temperateclimate are factorsthat favor theemergence
of manyinvertebrates.
Aquatichabitats are abundant in theseregions,
thenumber of tributariesnearthe Ebro. Herons,
garceteswhitegafarrons and Pastorelli, cuckoos, and
mifesputputs, owls, sparrows and xuteslivethere.
Alsogulls, coots and ducks, evenflamingostake place.
Only in the delta there are over 350 differentspecies
of birds.
In el delta you can seeexoticpinkflamingos,
dazzlingbee-eaters and scores of waders.
70% of theworld'spopulation of
therareAudouin'sGullbreeds in theEbre Delta.
TheexoticGreaterFlamingonumbersthousands.
FromPurpleGallinules and Little Bitterns in the
delta, toBonelli'sEagles and Eagle Owls in
themountains, it'sbothquality and quantity.
FLORA?
In el Delta del Ebrewefindcompletely flat
landsthat are peculiar and unique in Catalonia. In
theinternalpart of the delta, there are rice fields,
whichchangewiththeseasons, earthyfields in
winter, flooded in spring and green in summer.
Onthecoastwefindone of
themostattractivelakesidelandscapes of
theMediterranean,borderedbylargeponds. We can
alsofinddesertedsandybeaches, dunes and
othervegetation.
