A BAD WORD is a word that can hurt
someone’s feelings and is rude.
They are sometimes also known as swear
words or cuss words.
• “The Prophet (SAW) was not one who would abuse (others) or
say obscene words, or curse (others)…” (Bukhaari)
• “The best amongst you are those who have the best manners
and character.” (Bukhaari)
• “The believer is not a slanderer, one who curses a great deal,
one who indulges in obscenity or who in engages in foul talk.”
(Tirmidhi– saheeh by al-Albaani)
• “…..nor defame one another, nor insult one another by
nicknames. How bad is it, to insult one’s brother after having
Faith [i.e. to call your Muslim brother as: "O sinner", or "O
wicked", etc.]. And whosoever does not repent, then such are
indeed Zaalimoon (wrong-doers). (Surah Hujaraat:11)

mentioned “…the miser, the liar and those who are in the habit
of abusing people and using obscene and foul

• What is a “Sin Jariah”?
• Ibn Jarir recorded that `Abdullah bin `Amr used to say, "The son of
Adam, who killed his brother, will be the most miserable among men.
There is no blood shed on earth since he killed his brother, until the
Day of Resurrection, but he will carry a burden from it, for he was the
first person to establish murder.'' (At-Tabari)
