2. Todrov
• Todrov theory is that all stories began with an equilibrium that
are challenged with an competing balanced force.
• This is then ruined setting off a sequence of 5 stages in a
particular order.
• The balance in the end is restored back to harmony.
3. 5 STAGES
1. Equilibrium at the beginning
2. Disruption of the equilibrium
3. Recognition of disruption
4. Attempt to repair problem
5. Equilibrium restored
4. EQUILIBRIUM
• The equilibrium is at the start of the film.
Everything is normal and the balance
between competing forces seems to be
perfect.
• Kevin is sitting down in a room minding his
business reading a book. Sasha is happily
roaming the corridors looking for him.
5. DISRUPTION
• This is when the problem has occurred and
the balance has been messed with. The
protagonist has caused a problem.
• Sasha finds Kevin and sits next to him on the
sofa. She seems to have bothered Kevin and
looks like she taken it to the limit.
6. RECOGNITION
• The balance has been tampered with and a
problem has occurred. This is when a
problem has been caused most likely caused
by the protagonist.
• Sasha pushes Kevin to the limit and Kevin
decides he wants to end there relationship. He
don’t like the way he's being treated in the
relationship.
7. ATTEMPT OF REPAIRING DISRUPTION
• Character tries to bring order and find a
solution to return the balance back to
normal.
• Kevin comes up with many different ways of
how he can force the relationship to an end.
He comes up with mad far fetch ideas in which
to do so.
8. RESTORATION OF EQUILIBRIUM
• This is when the balance has finally been
returned. Harmony has been restored back to
the way it was in the beginning. Protagonist
has been dealt with and problem solved.
• Kevin finally draws relationship to an end.
They break up and both of them except the
floors in there relationship and no hard
feelings have been left.
