4. Are they interesting or are they weird? Why
Its anatomical structure is very weird compared to that of other creatures.
The wings are located on the top of the Billywig’s head, and they rotate very fast, like
on a Muggle helicopter.
The bottom of the body consists of a long, thin stinger.
The wings are attached to a radish-shaped body, which makes up ⅓ of the body.
There are two sets of wings, so four wings in total.
Their wings are translucent in color.

6. I was walking in the Great Australian Desert when suddenly,
I felt something prick me and I started feeling giddy all of a sudden…… I only
remember seeing a navy blue sting and collapsing in my best friend’s arms.
‘Isabel.. Are you okay?’ my best friend screamed. ‘What?? What happened??
Am I still in the desert? Are you okay?’ I was bombarding my best friend with
a 1001 questions. She leapt up and hugged me. ‘You know, you were stung by a
Billywig!!! You were levitating for at least 5 minutes before you woke up!! I
was so worried. Thank the gods you’re alright.’ My best friend said. While
for a while, I thought what a billywig is and then, it all flashed into my mind-
Professor Anne, My first class of Care of Magical Creatures this year, that
Billywigs are vivid sapphire blue creatures which have navy blue stings. When
they sting, you may experience giddiness and may levitate.

7. Are they interesting or are they wierd? Why?
Their name is also derived from the ancient Greek language: “hippos” meaning “horse” and “kampos” meaning “sea monster.”
Hippocampi are often called sea horses as the head and forequarters of the animal are that of a horse, while the tail and
hindquarters are that of a fish.
They are anywhere between four to six feet long, depending on the species. Hippocampi are strictly herbivores, and eat
different types of aquatic vegetation, like seaweed .
Hippocampi do live in schools. Most schools are around 30 pairs large in size, however there is a school off the coast of
Japan that has 54 recorded pairs.
—Hippocampi do not do well in captivity. Usually, it is because they can not be kept in an adequately sized tank. Magizoologists
instead have used the Bubble Head Charm with significant success in studying the Hippocampus.
Hippocampi allow wizards to study them and are very tolerant. There has never been a case of Hippocampi attacking wizards.
If a Hippocampus is in a bad mood, or the school is going through a rough time, they will alert the wizards. An alert consists
of the shaking of hands and hooves, and motioning back to the school and shaking their head. If a Hippocampus does not want
to be studied, they will shake hands and hooves, and shake their heads.
—Leaders of the Hippocampi schools, called Archons, are often the ones speaking to the wizards that are studying them.

9. I was holding the portkey with my friends Karelin, Abi, Cordelia, Isabel .R and
Heather when the portkey went with a whoosh and landed us on the bank of a
lake in Scotland. The scenery was beautiful, I agree, but since this was a
surprise trip, I didn’t know where we would be going and why. My friends had no
clue too. Then, Prof. Anne laid a cloth and opened the food hampers and I was
surprised as I thought why would Prof. Anne tell us it is a surprise educational
field trip and act as if we have come here for a picnic. I immediately forgot all
about it and started digging in.... Then I saw the reason.... Just as we were
eating, A school of hippocampi were doing a sort of display for all of us. Watching
those magnificent creatures made me ache... Why am I not as beautiful
and charming as them..... And, Prof. Anne was speaking to the
Archon and having a sort of ‘translating session’. This field trip was so awesome
that it actually taught me that not all educational field trips are lame.
