individuals are able to borrow or rent assets owned by someone else.
• EC: Sharing economy and collaborative economy are used
interchangeably
• Belk, 2014: Collaborative consumption was defined as ‘people
coordinating the acquisition and distribution of a resource for a fee or
other compensation’
• Freken et al, 2015: consumers (or firms) granting each other
temporary access to their under-utilized physical assets ("idle
capacity"), possibly for money
