1. Cleveland Foodbank
How much time do you
spend signing in at the
front desk when you arrive
to volunteer at the Cleve-
land Foodbank? Name,
email address, home ad-
dress, zip code—the list
seems to go on and on.
Meanwhile, other volun-
teers and the volunteer
services assistant are trying
to make small-talk with
you as you try to remem-
ber the right date and time
to sign in with. Even if
you move fast, it is safe to
assume that you have
logged a considerable
amount of time filling in
the same personal infor-
mation day after day over
the course of your career
as a Foodbank volunteer.
Improvements are coming!
With support from AT&T,
the Cleveland Foodbank
has recently acquired a
new and long-awaited
online software system
from Cervis Technologies.
In addition to expediting
the sign-in process—
leaving you with more time
for the meaningful work
you look forward to each
week—the new Volunteer
Services platform will offer
easier access to online
scheduling. As the Food-
bank looks to diversify pro-
ject options for volunteers,
the new Volunteer webpage
will maintain a continually
updated look at shift availa-
bility and project types.
Keep your eyes open for
new types of projects in the
months ahead.
Thanks in part to a gener-
ous donation from
AT&T, the new Vol-
unteer software will
also be integrated with
several user-friendly
sign-in kiosks. In the
coming months, all
volunteers (new and
veteran) will have a
chance to update
their own volunteer

the Browns is Monday

pm to 9 pm at First Ener-
gy Stadium. Join the
Cleveland Browns and the
Cleveland Foodbank as we
tackle hunger in Northeast
Ohio at Taste of the
Browns 2013. This 15th

acclaimed culinary tal-
ents—all while providing
hundreds of thousand of
meals to needy Northeast
Ohioans.
Mingle with the Cleveland
Browns alumni and cur-
rent players while sam-
pling some of the finest
cuisine from over 25 of
Northeast Ohio’s top res-
taurants. Attendees will
also enjoy great live music
and one-of-a-kind auction
and raffle items! Your
ticket purchase will in-
clude a commemorative
wine glass and valet park-
ing. Secure your spot early
for this exclusive event
before it sells out
General admission tickets
are $175 per person and

mation.
For every dollar donated
to the event, the Food-
bank can provide enough
and more are on the way!
You have helped with
food and funds drives and
been trained to complete
tax returns for clients
throughout Northeast
Ohio. Volunteers have
assisted with providing
tens of thousands of
pounds of fresh produce
through our own on-site
distributions and contrib-
uted hundreds of hours
Volunteers have always
enjoyed coming to the
Cleveland Foodbank to
help sort food donations
in the warehouse, prepare
meals in the kitchen and
assist with mailings or of-
fice projects. But many of
you are looking for new
and exciting ways to get
more involved.
We’ve had many new op-
portunities this summer
traveling to our member
agencies to assist clients
participating in a national
hunger study survey.
We will soon be looking
for volunteers to help
weed and harvest our
community garden. Look
for these opportunities
through our new volun-
teer software in Septem-
ber.

will start selling water bot-
tles, coffee mugs, pens,
lunch bags, t-shirts and
more. If you really want to
get behind the Foodbank
team, we are able to order
polos, fleeces or jackets
with an embroidered logo,
your choice of style, size
and color. These can be
ordered for corporate vol-
unteer events, gifts or just
to keep for yourself. Be
on the look out for these
items to arrive in August.
Don’t be the left out, see
Al or Chris in Volunteer
Services for more details.

the same time?
