- However, there is a tool called the “Fair Trade Finder” that allows you to type in your address or city, and it locates the closest store or café that offers Fairtrade products such as coffee, tea cotton, etc.
According to the Fair Trade finder, there were a few locations close to Agincourt Collegiate Institute

- However, within this powerpoint we will focus on 3 of the main grocery stores that carry a long line of fair trade products in Toronto: The Big Carrot, Wholefoods and Ten Thousand Villages
The Big Carrot is located at 348 Danforth Avenue and is right outside of Chester Subway Station
They are committed to carrying Fair Trade products
They are also known to be Toronto’s first certified organic health food store specializing in organically grown, non-GMO and environmentally safe products since 1983
They carry products such as: coffees, sugar, teas, chocolates, bananas, shea butter producers and more
Moving on, there is also another big grocery store called Whole Foods that also carries Fair Trade Products
Located in Unionville, 3997 Hwy 7 E, Markham (Hwy 7 and Birchmount Rd)
They carry year-round products such as bananas, flowers, pineapples, tomatoes, honey, coffee, herbs and spices, tea, chocolate, popcorn and sugar
Also carry seasonal fair trade produce which include: asparagus in the winter, grapes in the spring, apples in the summer and melons in the fall
Wholefoods also has their own program which tackles Fair Trade as well, it is called “The Whole Trade Guarantee Program”
The program was created to highlight their commitment to ethical trade, the environment and quality products from developing nations
Lastly, another store that sells Fair Trade products is called Ten Thousand Villages

It is the oldest and largest Fair Trade organization in North America, selling artisan-crafted personal accessories, home décor and gift items from around the world
They partner with thousands of talent artisans in healthy business relationships sell their work and in return, the artisans receive fair value for their craft
The company purchases products from more than 100 different artisan groups in 29 countries, giving them fair value for their work
However, there are many shops and cafes located in Downtown Toronto that offer a variety of Fair Trade products. Many of these shops are actually located in Kensington market such as: Moonbean Coffee, Blue Banana Market, (next slide)
… Orange Alert Coffee and Baldwin Natural-Organic Food Market.
