This document discusses using social networking like Edmodo in the classroom to safely communicate with students, parents, and teachers; promote collaboration between students and teachers; and organize assignments, quizzes, polls, bookmarks, links, files, discussions, and activities online. It notes that Edmodo allows assigning and collecting assignments digitally via a dropbox and calendar, freeing up teacher email. An example is given of a teacher currently using Edmodo for cross-district collaboration, and creating a class blog and calendar on the platform.

using Edmodo. My students do not clog
up my email with project since they turn
them in the dropbox.
