Decreasing stress at work to sleep better
1. You're such a great
teacher!
You're scheduled for
teaching lab safety
to my class tomorrow. You make such tasty
ginger bread cookies.
Can you please bring
some tomorrow?
We need coffee for
the meeting, can you
please fix it?
We're out of gloves in
the lab. You know where
they're stored. Can you
please fetch some?
6. So, you don't have time to
teach tomorrow. It's ok,
spend the time on
your research. Please take some of this
delicious homemade
cake!
Ask Sophie to fix some
coffee for the meeting!
Just a minute, I'll bring
some new gloves for
you!
7. Some final words
● This may have been an over exagguration of
gender effects on stress and sleeping
problems.
● However, it is true that there is a correlation
between sleeping problems and stress at work,
and that this effect is stronger among women
(Folkhälsorapport 2009, Socialstyrelsen [Public health report
2009, The National Board of Health and Welfare, Sweden]) .
● Sex change is probably not a good solution to
minimize stress related sleeping problems –
increased gender equality might be one.
