0x01 - Newton's Third Law: Static vs. Dynamic AbusersOWASP Beja
f you offer a service on the web, odds are that someone will abuse it. Be it an API, a SaaS, a PaaS, or even a static website, someone somewhere will try to figure out a way to use it to their own needs. In this talk we'll compare measures that are effective against static attackers and how to battle a dynamic attacker who adapts to your counter-measures.

2. POP
• Pop magazines are usually very bright and colourful. They
mainly use pinks and purples which would imply that they are
trying to target young/teenage girls.
• The main person they have on the front cover of the magazine is
someone that is well known to everyone, this would also suggest
that they are going to be the main feature of the magazine.
• This type of magazine is aimed towards the more stereotypical
girls of todays society because it has the most famous boybands
of today and the colours and headlines suggest this too.
3. URBAN
• Urban music magazines can change in colour schemes.
Sometimes they are quite dark and other times they are
colourful and bright.
• Language used is quite informal however they stay
professional which would appeal to their target audience.
The target audience will understand the language used
in the magazine whereas someone who isn’t as familiar
with this genre will not fully understand it.
• The people used on the front cover will be well known to
the target audience which will make them more than
likely want to buy the magazine.
4. R&B
• R&B magazines are both bright and dark. They use bright
colours such as white, light blue and pink however, they
also use dark colours such as black and red.
• The majority of people that would buy this magazine is the
younger generation because of the language used within in
this magazine. It isn’t very professional however it isn’t
totally slang. It is the kind of language the young
generation would use and understand.
5. ROCK
• Rock magazines are very dark and mysterious. They don’t
use a range of different colours, they just stick to the simple
colours of black, red, white and occasionally blue.
• The front cover of a rock magazine is very busy and packed
out full of cover lines.
• The target audience for a rock magazine is mainly males,
young and old.
6. CLASSICAL
• The colours used on a classical magazine are very subtle and
they aren’t ‘loud’ which reflects which the type of magazine
because this type of music is very slow and relaxing.
• This type of magazine would be aimed towards the older
generation because they believe this is ‘real’ music rather
than todays type of music. It is more quieter and calming.
• Most classical music magazines are inviting due to the model
on the front cover of the magazine. They look natural rather
than looking like they have been told to do a certain pose or
facial expression.
7. DANCE
• This type of magazine is very live and energetic which links to
the genre of magazine. The colours used are very bright and
neon which would make the magazine stand out on the
shelves.
• This magazine would appeal to a young target audience
between the ages of 18-25 because this is the type of age when
people would be interested in going to nightclubs.
• The front cover of these magazines do not have man cover
lines on the front however this can add surprise to the
magazine as people would buy it to find out more.
8. COUNTRY
• They are very bright and colourful just like their songs; very
bright and emotional. This then reflects the target audience.
• The magazines use bright calming colours which reflects the
music genre and the music that the country artists make.
• The country music magazines that are quite old, aren’t as
clear and informative as the modern day ones. The modern
magazines are sharper and they look more appealing
however the older ones may also look appealing as they
have an old look to them that may attract people to buy
them.
9. LATIN
• Latin music magazines are very colourful which makes them
eye catching and appealing to look at.
• The main target audience would be Latino people however it
would also appeal to those that are interested in a different
genre of music.
• Also, the model on the cover will be known to people as they
want it to attract to their audiences. If they have someone
that people idol, an audience is more likely to buy the
magazine.
