American Christians have failed to protect the sacredness of Christian holidays because they were too busy with theological arguing and nitpicking about Bible verses. The sad consequencs can be viewed here.

Easter Sunday in the USA
Today is Sunday.
Today is the Lord's Day.
Today is Easter.
Today is a holiday.
So please tell me what's wrong with these pictures?
Why are there cars parked at this business? Why is
this business open? Is this just another day? What is
the reason for this scene of impiety? Don't you have
any respect for the Lord's day? What happened to
rest & worship? It seems to me that consumerism
and materialism mean more to you than the Lord. It
ought not to be so. It used not to be so. The early
and real Americans were taught from the New
England Primer:
The fourth commandment requireth, the keeping
holy to God such set times as he hath appointed in
his word, expressly one whole day in seven to be
an holy Sabbath to himself... From the beginning
of the world, to the resurrection of Christ, God
appointed the seventh day of the week to be the
weekly sabbath, and the first day of the week ever
since to continue to the end of the world, which is the Christian Sabbath... The sabbath is to be
sanctified to an holy resting all that day, even from such worldly employments and recreations as are
lawful on other days, and spending the whole time in public and private exercises of God's worship,
except so much as is to be taken up in the works of necessity and mercy... The fourth commandment
forbiddeth, the omission or careless performance of the duties required, and the profaning the day
by idleness, or doing that which is in itself sinful, or by unnecessary thoughts, words or works, about
worldly employments or recreations.
Questions for serious people:

2. What is holy resting?
What are works of necessity and mercy?
Is pleasure and shopping a work of necessity and measure?
Name 5 exercises of God's worship?

What can you personally do to get America back on track and see Sunday as a day of rest restored the
way it used to be?
How is the Lord's Day being profaned in today's society?
Is it right for American preachers to condemn the "liberal Europeans" while for example in Germany
the stores are closed on Sundays, Sunday rest constitutionally protected, and people consciously
recognize Sunday as a day for rest?
Is America misled by the ethic of "living to work" instead of properly "working to live"?
I hope you were able to write down a reply to these questions. God's commandments are four our good.
Wal-Mart's motto is "Save Money. Live Better." Wouldn't we all live better and save money if we see
the Sunday shopping craze stopped? I feel sorry for those Wal-Mart workers who don't get paid a fair,
living wage and can't be at church or with their family on this Easter Sunday?
Woe unto this crooked and perverse nation, among whom we shine forth as lights for Jesus Christ.
Philippians 2:15,16.
