In a vane actuator fluid pressure applied at the ports will act on the vane and cause the shaft assembly to rotate. Maximum rotation for a 1V unit is 280 degrees and for a 2V unit is 100 degrees. Torque is equal and constant in both directions. Torque is determined by the size and number of vanes and the pressure applied.
Rotary actuators are also used for tension control by processors within the steel industry. The actuator is used to position a tensioning arm to maintain uniform roll thickness. Our actuators are easy to install and provide a quick accurate response required to provide for a homogeneous steel strip. SS-65 or SS-130 Butch Bliss
The Refuse and Recycling industry are ideal markets for our actuators. Pictured here are our actuators used to operate an automated arm to pick up bins of trash or recyclable goods. Our durability and simple, enclosed design is a great user benefit in this application. No replacing or rebuilding leaky cylinders - our actuator will be in service long after regular cylinders have rusted, bent, or fallen apart after being exposed to this harsh, contaminated environment. Note where the arrow is pointing you can see our actuator open and exposed to the environment. HS-15 TPI Superior Pak
Rotary actuators have long been used in the blow molding machinery. Closing dies, finished part unloading, and removing inserts are a few of the operations that can be performed by a rotary actuators These machines are used to make everything from plastic milk jugs to large pots for trees or shrubbery. The purpose of this program and criteria is to assist you in identifying rotary motion applications and opportunities that could potentially be achieved utilizing a rotary actuator. These may be applications that are being accomplished using complicated linkages, antiquated chains and sprockets or expensive hydraulic motors, or they may be inefficient or inadequate designs or new designs under consideration.
