“ Under the Rug”
Lets look back to two weeks prier in the town of Madison, where there lived a
elderly couple; Arthur and Wanda. Arthur, who was a retired military vet of World War
II, is under the impression that everyone is out to get him due to his experiences during
the war. During the two weeks, his wife Wanda, had been coming in late, but little did he
know that she was seeking help for her disturbed husband. One night Arthur finally
confronted her about the thought of her affair, but it was not enough. In his rage, he
released his bolted up anger, as soon as Wanda turned in his direction. Boom! She had
been slapped across the face and in the force she had fallen to the ground. Quivering on
the ground, she struggled to get her footing and as soon as she was up, Arthur had
realized what he had done. He had begged for her forgiveness, and asked her not to leave.
Wanda reluctantly gave him another chance, but with the condition that he must go and
seek professional help.
Back into the present moment, Wanda only can see an ever deteriorating
Arthur. The feelings of anger and suspicion are growing within the mind of Wanda, as
well as Arthur. On Monday night, Wanda comes home only to find Arthur sitting in his
chair waiting for her to arrive. As soon as she steps into the door, pure rage sets in the
mind of Arthur. The mentally unstable Arthur, finally snaps and as soon as Wanda can
turn around she has been beaten to the floor. In a deepen panic, Wanda looks to the rug
only to see the papers that she had been gather to reveal to Arthur had been bunched up in
a neat little pile. Trying to hind the papers one final time, Wanda tries to push them back
into their hiding spot. Without reaching her goal, Wanda is hit upside the head and falls

back into the table and lamp. After the final blow Arthur had fallen into his chair only to
be released from his mentally unstable mind. Now Arthur is only suffer with the thought
that he had killed his wife.
Once the emotions of killing his wife had disappeared, Arthur looked for
the papers, which had started the whole thing. To his surprise, they were of research that
Wanda had been gathered to help her husband. This was only adding to his guilt of what
he had just learned. Arthur now will live out the rest of his days with the torment of
knowing he had just murdered his only chance at freedom.
