With the County approval of multiple new developments on the
west side of the Florida Turnpike and the City of Delray Beach
approval of new downtown developments, Lake Ida Road has
become the "Atlantic Avenue By-Pass". No other roads in the four
or five miles between Boynton Beach Blvd / Woolbright and
Atlantic Avenue provide access through the Florida Turnpike or I-
95 – resulting in massive increase in congestion on West Atlantic.
A full study should be commissioned to study the fact or fiction of
the use of Lake Ida Road between Military Trail and Hagen Ranch
Road to avoid Atlantic Avenue and propose transportation
improvements for future increases with continued growth west of
the Florida Turnpike and east of I-95.
