31st March, Current Affairs:
• President Pranab Mukherjee inaugurated the biggest River festival 'Namami Brahmaputra' in Guwahati.
• India becomes net exporter of Electricity for 1st time as India has exported around 5,798 Million Units to
Nepal, Bangladesh and Myanmar which is 213 Million units more than the import of around 5,585 Million
units from Bhutan.
• Kanha Tiger Reserve became the first tiger reserve in India to officially introduce a mascot named
Bhoorsingh the Barasingha.
30th March, Current Affairs:
• The Finance Bill 2017 has been approved by Parliament. Also four GST or Goods and Services Tax-related
bills passed by the Lok Sabha.
• Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli along with seven other sportspersons were awarded with the Padma
Shri award by President Pranab Mukherjee at a ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
• The Supreme Court of India has banned the sale of any Bharat Stage III or BS III vehicles across India
with effect from April 1 2017.
• Tamil Nadu wins the Deodhar Trophy after defeating India B by 42 runs in the final in Vishakhapatnam.

• Gudi Padava and Navreh celebrated today.
• Indian-American Vanita Gupta has been appointed as president and CEO of 'The Leadership Conference on
Civil and Human Rights', becoming the first woman to head the prestigious organisation.
• India reclaimed the Border-Gavaskar Trophy after defeating Australia by 2-1 in the home Test series.
27th March, Current Affairs:
• Bengal wins the Santosh Trophy for a record 32nd time after beating hosts Goa 1-0 in the final.
• Sebastian Vettel wins the Australian Grand Prix.
26th March, Current Affairs:
• According to Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation (CAPA), India has become the third largest aviation market
in terms of domestic passenger traffic with 100 million. India is only behind US (719 million) and China (436
million).
25th March, Current Affairs:
• To mark the 10th annual Earth Hour, the lights are being switched off around the world at 8:30 pm today
evening.
• Kuldeep Yadav became the first chinaman bowler to play for India in Tests. He made his debuted in
Dharamsala against Australia in the fourth Test match.
24th March, Current Affairs:
• World Tuberculosis Day observed today with the slogan "United to end TB".
• The Norwegian Academy of Science and Letters selected French mathematician Yves Meyer for the Abel
Prize for 2017.

Delhi.
• Union Government has decided to merge the Bharatiya Mahila Bank (BMB) with the State Bank of India.

• Yogi Adityanath took oath as Uttar Pradesh's new chief minister along with two deputy chief ministers
and a 43-member cabinet.
• 130 days economic blockade by the United Naga Council in Manipur is lifted tonight.
• Cheteshwar Pujara creates a record of playing longest innings, in terms of balls faced by an Indian
batsman in Test Matches. He played 525 balls to scores 202 runs against Australia in the third test in
Ranchi.

• Trivendra Singh Rawat took oath as the ninth Chief Minister of Uttarakhand.
• India's national racing champion in LGB F4 category, Ashwin Sundar and his wife were killed in an
accident in Chennai.
16th March, Current Affairs:
• Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) won a trust vote in the Goa assembly with 22 legislators voting for them.
• Captain Amarinder Singh sworn in as chief minister of Punjab.
15th March, Current Affairs:
• Nongthombam Biren Singh took oath as Chief Minister of Manipur.
• Shashank Manohar resigns as chairman of International Cricket Council.
• World Consumer Rights Day is being observed today.
14th March, Current Affairs:
• Manohar Parrikar took oath as the new Chief Minister of Goa.
13th March, Current Affairs:
• The festival of colours Holi is celebrated today in India.
• Manohar Parrikar resigns from his post of Defence Minister as he will take oath as Chief Minster of Goa.
• Finance Minister Arun Jaitley will take additional charge as the India’s Defence Minister.
• The Reserve Bank of India on Monday lifted the limit on cash withdrawals from banks and ATMs.
• Lee Chong Wei beat Shi Yuqi of China by 21-12, 21-10 to win 4th All England title.

• Indian shooters Jitu Rai and Amanpreet Singh wins gold and silver medal respectively in men’s 50m free
pistol at the ISSF Shooting World Cup.
• India captain Virat Kohli presented with the prestigious Polly Umrigar Award at the Board of Control for
Cricket India's Annual Awards to be held in Bengaluru. Kohli become the first Indian cricketer to be
bestowed with the honour on three occasions. All-rounder R Ashwin also becomes the first Indian cricketer
to receive the Dilip Sardesai Award twice.
