8th August; don’t get me wrong, I am a great believer of advertising in any format, I mean let’s get real,“Doing business without advertising is like winking at a girl in the dark, you know what you’re doing, but she doesn’t.” However watching TV last night, (Monday’s is a good night) with some of my favorite programs starting at 7:30 pm, the exact same advert was shown at least 3 times for each of the three series that I watch. BOOM! at what point does it become overkill? I understand that at the critical part of the show when excitement rules, you cut in with the advert & that’s good, but what will the overkill do to the value of the product/service, at what point will the consumer remember the irritation and not the brand. I know that half of the money you spend on advertising is wasted; boy I would become an overnight millionaire if I could work out which half.
