Alternative Waste Management
 Alternative waste management is a set of activities that include inter alia the collection
and transport, transfer, temporary storage, reuse, recycling and recovery of specific waste
streams, so that they are recovered and diverted from the waste stream that led to final
disposal sites. There are many kinds of materials which can be reused, recycled or
otherwise recovered rather than ending up in landfills. The benefits of recycling are
numerous, including not only the protection of the environment and the conservation of
natural resources but also the promotion of sustainable development and the creation of
new jobs.

Right Way to Recycle Packaging
 Sort the used packaging materials from other materials in the household on daily basis.
 Scrape out all remains from packaging.
 Squeeze as many packaging items as possible and fold cartons.
 Do not put packaging items in the bin in tied-up carrier bags; we put them loose instead.
 Never put ordinary rubbish in the blue recycling bins.
 Spread the message of recycling packaging to all friends and people you know.

A group of young people with innovative ideas and creativity, which has brought
revolution in our waste management.

Cyclefi helps save hundreds of euros per year for the use of mobile data (MB), just if you start
to recycle.
You follow a simple process to get the Cyclefi recycling package.
The package contains orange bags for your recycling waste and the blue labels with your
unique personal QR codes.

Clean Hands

Clean hands is a non profit organization where their main action is collecting used soaps
from hotels and after a reporpuse process support with the new products social
organizations.
This upcycling project helps to reduce waste following the program GreenSoap.
But Clean hands action doesn't stop there. They organize lots of activities, like workshops
for students, teaching the process of remaking soap.

“Protect the environment and the public health”

Rewarding Recycling Machine in
Komotini city
 The local hunting club of Komotini will
soon install an innovative recycling
machine in the center of the city.
 People will recycle plastic and aluminum
and in return the machine will give them
dog food.
 The machine doesn't require electricity, it
works automatically using a solar panel.

“Recycle in the Source” in Patra city
 “Recycle in the source” is a collectivity which for three years, is claiming the decisive
participation of society in the management of waste.
 The action core is the neighborhood, which acts itself in the correct sorting, recycling and
collective management of the benefit arising by processing.
 The aim of the group is to inspire other neighborhoods throughout Greece, to reduce the
volume of garbage and show that society can impose decentralized, mild, waste
processing alternatives.

Major events of 2016 include:
 Participation in the 1st Forum on Social and
Solidarity Economy in Brussels.
 Operation of the first Repair Café in Greece.
 One of the 7 best social projects in Greece
by ASHOKA organization and creating
business plan.
 The enactment of the new Law on Social
Economy.
 The selection and viewing as good reuse
practice in Greece for the Repair Café in
REWEE program.
 The 6th place of "Appliance Recycling SA".
