Old Kingdom- upper and lower Egypt , found in the funerary chambers of the tombs dating from the end of the Old Kingdom, speak of the transformation of the dead king into the Sun.
-Fourth dynasy- king Khufu and the kings that followed him Rahaef and Menkaure. The site is a representation of the Sun God (Ra). In this era, ancient Egyptians believed in several gods, because they believed that the Gods would help their land and bring wealth to their people.

Historical value-represents the past of their people. The Egyptians are a proud nation who believes in conserving and respecting the dead. A major factor in their beliefs is respect, which comes from their religion. A majority of the nation is Muslim. Thus the destruction and not proper preservation of the great pyramids would shame the nation and its people
