Ryan Bednar discusses some basic banking concepts. He has a bank account that he uses occasionally with his debit card and has cashed checks. While he keeps track of his expenses, he does not spend much currently as a student. He acknowledges money awareness will become more important as he gets older. Ryan also has a savings account, but only deposits one cent per month so it will take many years to accumulate any meaningful savings.

2. Money Awareness

Money awareness is not a big problem for me since I don’t spend money very
often. Obviously, this will change especially as I get older and if I were to get
a car. I have considered my revenues and expenses to keep track of my
money.
Record Keeping

I have a bank account, and I use my debit card occasionally. Also, I have
cashed in several cheques, and I look at my bank statement fairly regularly.
Savings Account

Having a savings account could be very useful. I say this because I do have
one, but I accumulate one cent a month, which would add to a dollar after
eight years and four months.
