Being afraid of public speaking is the most normal thing in the world. We've all suffered at
school, college, social event, at work or when giving a speech. According to studies, the fear
of public speaking is the number one fear of people, rising above even the fear of death. That
is, people would rather be in the coffin instead of talking to those present at the funeral.
Then mention the main reasons that people fear public speaking and some things that could
help you overcome it.
Seem boring
Many people fear that their words bored the audience, but in real life if you're bored, there
should be no reason to sleep to the public. They should stop thinking about the negative
things that we believe we have. Stress causes you to lose the creativity, spontaneity and
even humor. If you fail to control those nerves, your personality will come out and make you
a good speaker.
People will laugh at me
Who does not like that people laugh at the funny things we say? To all. The problem is that
when speaking in public is thought that people might laugh "you" instead of "you". Laughter is
the best remedy for any fear. Not trying to be a clown or a comedian take them. It just looks
as relaxed as possible and removes a stitch occasionally. If you get a smile on your audience
know you are watching what you say and who are having a good step.
A nervous wreck
And who does not get nervous? Nerves suffer even better players football team who have
played hundreds of matches but now face an important one. All you have to ensure is that
those nerves are not too obvious they reach the degree of inconvenience to the audience
making them feel too nervous.
Perhaps you serve these 8 tips to keep the attention of your audience.
I forget everything
This is something that happens to even the most experienced speakers. The good news is
that there are coping strategies. The main thing is to prepare and very well structured
presentation, flowing naturally from point to point, you know what are the important points.
Take a breath and a moment to think before moving on to the next point. That will help you
remember what follows. Try to take notes readable only with the key points. The audience
will see the world as normal. So you can tell where you left off. Do you participate.
Go into panic
Undoubtedly the biggest fear people are entering the auditorium and suddenly your mind
goes blank them. Do not know how to start and do not remember anything of what they
would say. This can happen of course, the key is to say something, anything. If you spend
too much time in silence all those looks will give you more and more scared. So say
whatever. Tell the audience: "You know what, I forgot what I was going to say." They will
laugh, you will identify and feel relaxed. Everything will flow as planned.
