Pablo Picasso was a Spanish painter and sculptor who helped pioneer Cubism. He frequented the Barcelona café El Quatre Gats and befriended the poet Guillaume Apollinaire. Picasso had relationships with many women who were subjects of his paintings, including his mistress Fernande Olivier and his lover Marie-Thérèse Walter, for whom he painted his Cubist sculpture Bust of a Woman.
