ST AUGUSTINE - FLORIDA - First Coast
Technical College's pharmacy technician course in is a 1050-hour program exclusively
designed to educate trainees for new opportunities toward the pharmaceutical career.
Pharmacy technicians carry out everyday tasks under the supervision and guidance of
registered pharmacists to undertake medical and paperwork tasks in the organized functioning
of the pharmacy. The training course consists of theoretical knowledge and clinical practice.
Program involves but is not limited to: professional medical terminology, data processing
automation, medication compounding, stock maintenance, dealing with dangerous components,
sterile techniques, marking and pricing orders, patient documents, customer service, IV
preparing.

applications for anyone who would like to enter one of the fastest growing sectors:
“Designed to meet workforce needs of area hospitals and retail settings, our program
offers graduates the opportunity to become a Certified Pharmacy Technician,” said
Patricia Rench, FCTC health careers coordinator.
Financial aid available for those who qualify. Class begins Aug. 20, meeting from 6 to 10
p.m. Monday through Thursday; and from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. every other Saturday on
FCTC’s campus, 2980 Collins Ave.
