Working as a Staff Technologist in Aga Khan (University Hospital,
Karachi,) Stat Lab Multan.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE AT AKUH (FROM
JANUARY 2006 TO DATE)
Joined Aga Khan University and Hospital (AKUH) from January 2006
and presently working as Medical Technologist in the departments of
Hematology, Biochemistry, Microbiology Coagulation, and Blood
Banking.
My duties are:
HAEMATOLOGY
• Performs Complete Blood Count, Reticulocyte & other
miscellaneous tests on Coulter & Sysmex etc.
• To perform, ICT Malaria Antigen Test & rule out Malarial Parasite
on thin & thick Blood Smear
• Performs microscopic examination of peripheral blood smear.
• Perform Corrected White Blood Cells Count.
• Reporting of Peripheral blood smears to make primary diagnosis
of different types of Anemias, Leukemias and other diseases. The
report is consulted by Pathologist to give the final diagnosis.

4. MICROBIOLOGY
• Performs all aspects of Uri analysis resulting in complete
reports.
This include determination of specific-gravity, assessment of urine
volume, color & clarity, assay of dipstick chemistries. Most
importantly accurate reproducible microscopic evaluation of urine
sediment for cellular elements, crystals bacteria, mucus and casts.
• Stool DR, Stool Occult Bloods.
CLINICAL CHEMISTRY
• To perform all bio-chemistry tests on Automations
• To prepare automation by running controls & calibrators
• To prepare reagents for analyzers
• To make GTT Graph
• To recheck samples by dilution method
• To perform Hepatitis & Hormones Tests on Elecsys (Cobas 411)
COAGULATION
• To perform Prothrombin Time (PT), Activated Partial
Thromboplastin Time (APTT) by automation as well as manual
method.

• Assist the procedure of Bone Marrow Aspirate & Trephine with
pathologist.
• Activity involved with the pathologist in the procedure of fine
needle aspiration Cytology (FNAC) from Breast, Lymph Nodes,
and Thyroid.
