21. ANGER IS A FEELING
Anger is an emotion characterized by
HATRED toward someone or
something you feel has deliberately
done you wrong. Anger can be a
good thing. It can give you a way to
express negative feelings, for
example, or motivate you to find
solutions to problems. But excessive
anger can cause problems.
22. WHAT IS REALLY ANGER?
Anger thus temporarily protects
people from having to recognize and
deal with their painful real feelings;
you get to worry about getting back
at the people you're angry with
instead. Making yourself angry can
help you to hide the reality that you
find a situation frightening or that
you feel vulnerable.
25. ANGRER IS NOT A SIN
• We usually anger when were
corrected.
• We all experienced anger.
• Anger can grow almost like
murder.
26. WHERE DOES YOUR ANGER LIE?
• When we see things that are not
right
• When people are being hurt
• Angry can be a natural response
• Sometimes, we just can't handle it
27. TIPS THAT CAN HELP:
• When you feel the anger rising
inside you close your eyes (or don't)
and breathe in deeply for 5 seconds...
hold for 5 seconds and push out
slowly and completely, for 5
seconds.
• Drink a big glass of cold water;
literally cool off this works.
28. TIPS THAT CAN HELP:
• Lay down... it's very difficult to
maintain the fight or flight response
lying down.
• Count 1 to 10
30. Can you be angry and not sin? YES!
The bible doesn't tells us that we
shouldn't feel angry, but it points out
that it is important to handle our
anger properly. If not, it can hurt
others and destroy relationships. It
can cause us to become bitter and
destroy us from within. Paul tells us
to deal with our anger immediately in
a way that builds relationships rather
than destroy them.
31. Can you be angry and not sin? YES!
If we nurse our anger, we will give
the devil an opportunity to divide us.
32. There were a few instances
when Jesus became angry, but
they were fully in line with the
Father’s purposes. (Mark 3:1-5)
34. ANGER CAN ALSO PREVENT
CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP:
• Titus and in 1 Timothy clearly say
that elders, pastors, and leaders must
not be angry, short tempered, or hot-
headed, but rather, be gentle, kind,
and not easily angered.
35. ANGER CAN ALSO PREVENT
CHRISTIAN LEADERSHIP:
• Moses was not able to enter the
promise land because of anger.
• Because of David’s anger and
adultery, Uriah was killed in battle at
David’s request to send him to the
front line.
• Saul became enraged at David’s
promotion and sought to kill him.
36. "Anger is not a little character flaw, it
is the flame that fuels a raging fire
that can consume everything, and
everyone, in its path."
