22. Casey Living is very communal, with about 150-160
expeditioners, but only about 16-20 remain on station in
winter. Often compared to living to sky lodges. All
expeditioners contribute to the day to day running of the
station. Rosters are set up, for activities of daily living. Each
expeditioner has a private room, but shares a bathroom
with another 2 people. Only 2 minutes shower EVERY
SECOND DAY.
They are very social, and dress up for Saturday dinners,
and occasionally have theme nights.
Lettuce, green vegetables, tomatoes and fresh herbs grow
in a hydroponic building.
