Make a Commitment to Your Success
by Eric Moldenhauer | on August 20, 2013
Success is not something that comes easy. Just because you have decided to take the next step and become a
business owner doesn’t mean things are going to be all fine and dandy. It takes dedication and perseverance in
order to get the results that you want.
What is Success?
Well, this can mean a number of things to a lot of people. For some, graduating high school or college is
defined as success. For others, it may be getting their first job. For others, it may be finding the girl of their
dreams.
But for those of you who are in the business world, success may mean something completely different. Maybe
its getting the name of the business set in stone, getting your doors officially opened or getting your first
customer.
Or maybe its making your first sale, getting your first referral or coming up with your first campaign. But
either way, you have to start somewhere. But do you really know what’s working now?
See, that’s the thing – things change so quickly nowadays that sometimes we don’t really know what’s
working. We like to think that our success is going to happen if we simply do what others have done in the
past.
And although that may be true to a certain extent, it’s not always the case.
Success Isn’t Easy?
Yes, if it was that easy, everyone would be doing it as they say. But the reality is that we need to be 100%
committed to our business, no matter where you run it from. Whether from home or in the “office”, we need
to focus on what’s working now to make our business successful.
But all too often, I see those who believe they are putting in enough time and effort into their business, but in
reality they aren’t. But they jump from one thing to the next and never really focus and that makes for a lack
of success in most cases.
What we need to do is to stop wasting time on activities that are not producing results for us. We instead need
to focus on getting together a plan of action that will help create success in our business.
I was once there, so I know exactly how this feels. I used to spend countless hours doing things that I thought
were going to bring me success and results in my business. I knew that I was putting in enough time, but it
just wasn’t working.
It wasn’t until I actually figured out what I needed to do that I started to see a change.
Rules of Success
Rules? Yes, there are rules that can help dictate your success and also how quickly you achieve it. It took me
a while to figure these out, but once I did, my success was unstoppable!
So here it is:
- Raising your level of awareness
- Taking 100% responsibility for the outcome
- Choosing a plan of action over confusion
- Embracing risk
- Identifying and executing priorities
- Put what you learn into action and choose a role of leadership
- Bringing your value to the marketplace no matter how small the audience
- NEVER QUITTING
