The more than 1% recovery on Wall Street overnight
could provide further inspiration to the local bourse this
morning.
After initiating a strong bullish break back above the 3070
immediate resistance yesterday with a 1.3% higher close,
the STI looks poised to continue its climb towards the
next obstacle at 3130.
Meanwhile, the upside momentum has also seen a
significant improvement with the MACD having just
initiated a sharp bullish crossover.
According to Barclays, SingTel provides a great
opportunity for investors with its cheap entry point -- the
most affordable among the three Singapore telcos
because of prevailing regional currency weakness -- while
offering a very attractive yield rate in part due to
improving rveenue growth trends.
Amidst certain economic headwinds surrounding
countries in Asia, Singapore maintains a generally
'satisfactory' business condition and business leaders are
expecting to remain it this way in the near future.
Global Finance magazine has named the World's Top 10
Safest Commercial Banks, and three Singapore banks --
DBS Bank (3rd), Oversea-Chinese Banking Corp (4th) and
United Overseas Bank (5th) -- made it to the prestigious
list.
