A different person
Have you ever wanted to have a kayak in your tiny flat, where there are two mountain bikes
and a huge traffic sign? Well, believe it or not, one day I had to convince my friend Fran not to
buy one.

I met him in high school. We were in the middle of another boring lesson of who knows what
about History when somebody began to laugh, so loud that the teacher got completely
annoyed. The student was, of course, Fran.

Things like that were very common those years. For instance, I remember one day during a
class of Physical Education. We had to play rugby. So there was Fran, convinced that he was an
All Black (a member of the most famous rugby team). By chance, one girl caught the ball, but no
sooner had she taken it in her hands than he ran to her furiously. To our utter surprise, he
threw her to the floor. That had been totally unbelievable. He only said: "This is rugby, what did
you expect?"

A few years after ending our secondary studies he became my new flat mate. Living with him
was a mixture between happiness and desperation. He could arrive home with the most
unusual thing that you could imagine (for example, the huge traffic sign, which stayed with us
for more than a year), but I have to admit that he made me laugh a lot.

Nowadays I don't have any contact with him, but, who knows, perhaps in the future I will have
a kayak in the middle of my living room.
