2. Job Specification
1. DailyreportingtoVessel Master,PartyManager and HSE Advisor, providing
summary of clinic activities, consultations, and health concerns,
2. Dailyinspectionof ablutions,showersandfoodpreparationareasto ensure
high levels of hygiene.
3. SubmitweeklyVessel InspectionReportonSanitationandHygienetoVessel
Master, Party Manager and HSE Advisor. (See Appendix B for Hygiene and
Sanitation Checklist)
4. Weekly inspection of medical cabinets and medical O2 usage logs for
verification of stocks and volume remaining. Expiry dates should be listed
and monitored to ensure fresh stocks are ordered as required.
5. Weeklyinspection,maintenance andreplenishmentof FirstAidKitsand Eye
Wash Stations on all workstations around the vessel.
6. Monthly inventory taking and reports on medical supplies. Report to be
submitted to the Vessel Master, Party Manager and HSE Advisor.
7. Submit medical supplies requisition to Party Manager at least two weeks
before any port calls.
8. Submit monthly report to HSE Advisor as per vessel monthly reporting
routine.
9. Consultationwithanycrew membersrequiring first aid treatment, medical
advice,orbasic counseling,and case management of patients as described
below.
10. Co-ordinationwithSOSInternational formedical advice concerningonboard
patient’s diagnosis, treatment and case management.
11. Co-ordination with Vessel Master, Party Manager and HSE Advisor in the
case of a medical evacuation(medivac) requirement.If required, the Medic
will accompany the patient during transportation to an onshore medical
facility.
12. Distribution of basic medications (other than “S4” category drugs) as
required.
