EXCEPTIONS ARE
MOST LIKELY IN
THE FOLLOWING
AREAS
Where the material is in breach of the criminal
law.
Some scenes in an 18 movie can portray the
means of an individual who could risk harm to
themselves.
This may include
portrayals of sexual or
sexualised violence, for
example sexual assault.
My Film Opening
It is important to have a certificate rating as it can contain very
violent scenes inappropriate for their age, they might not
understand the concept of the movie, or it could lead to children
under the age certificate to copy scenes in the movie, where they
could potentially hurt themselves. I have decided to have my film
opening at an 18 certificate, as I will be able to show more vivid
scene than a 15, such as someone getting their bone or bones
broken, (accidentally or purposely). As my film is about a
psychopathic girl scene such as these could be used. As well as
this children under this rating might find the film scary/thrilling. In
a psychological thriller a typical convention are weapons, i.e.
knives, axes, hammers etc. A parent would not want their children
to see how this weapons could be portrayed.
