Life senior active and junior active members shall be eligible to participate in
all classes at Regular Competitions, Eventing Competitions at the preliminary
level or above and Combined Driving competitions at the advanced level,
Dressage, Reining and Vaulting competitions and Endurance Rides. A
nonmember may participate as a handler, rider, driver, owner, lessee, agent,
coach or trainer at Regular competitions, Eventing competitions, Dressage
competitions, Reining competitions and Combined Driving competitions upon
payment of a $30 Show Pass Fee.. Participants in the following classes are
exempted from the requirements of this rule 1) leadline 2) exhibitions 3) games
and races 4) classes for 4-H members 5) walk trot and academy classes
(academy classes are classes limited to horses used regularly in a lesson
program); 6) USDF introductory level tests, pas de deux and quadrille classes
7)NRHA endorsed reining competitions 8) Opportunity classes 9) citizens of
other nations who have proof, in English, of current membership in good
standing of their own national federation 10) USEA beginner novice division
and 11) assistant handlers in Dressage Sport Horse Breeding classes.
Minors who do not have a valid driver’s license which allows them to operate a motorized vehicle in
the state in which they reside will not be permitted to operate a motorized vehicle of any kind
including, but not limited to, golf carts, motorcycles, scooters, or farm utility vehicles on the
competition grounds of licensed competitions. Minors who have a valid temporary license may
operate the above described motorized vehicles as long as they are accompanied by an adult with a
valid driver’s license. The parent(s), legal guardian(s), or individual who signs the entry blank as
parent or guardian of a minor operating a motorized vehicle in violation of this rule are solely
responsible for any damages, claims, losses or actions resulting from that operation. Violations of
this rule will be cause for sanctions against the parent(s), guardian (a), and/or trainer (s) who are
responsible for the child committing the offense. Penalties may include exclusions of the child,
parent(s), guardian(s), and/or trainer(s) from the competition grounds for the remainder of the
competition and charges being filed against any of the above individuals in accordance with Rule 6,
Wheelchairs and other mobility assistance devices for individuals with disabilities are exempt from
this rule.

When a horse show extends the courtesy of taking an advance entry by
telephone, it is with the understanding that the entry fees will be paid, and credit
is extended based on these terms. If such entries are not cancelled by 5:00 pm
on the 2 days previous to the show and are not paid for, the exhibitor will have
his name posted (through the Long Island Professional Horsemen’s Association)
to all USEF Member Long Island Shows. Future shows may refuse said
exhibitors entries unless the indebtedness is settled.

FROM Nassau County LIE Eastbound to Exit 53.Stay on service road to 3rd turn off 
Washington Ave. *At the traffic light make a right turn on Washington. Go 
approximately one mile to the second light, Suffolk Ave. Make a left onto Suffolk Ave, 
the farm will be on left. Continue to Eastern Ave, make left onto Eastern Avenue and 
enter show grounds. 
FROM Eastern Long Island: LIE Westbound to Exit 56. Stay on the service road. Make a 
left onto Washington Ave. Follow directions from above, once on Washington.

RULES AND REGULATIONS 
 
Entry Fees are $30.00 per class unless otherwise stated.  
All non‐negotiable checks will be subject to a surcharge of $50.00. 
POST ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AT THE SHOW prior to the start of the class, however, a SECRETARIAL FEE OF $10.00 PER CLASS 
WILL BE CHARGED FOR ALL CLASSES unless otherwise specified.   
$10.00 PER CLASS WILL BE CHARGED FOR ANY CHANGE OF CLASS. 
 
If a horse or pony is ENTERED BUT NOT EXHIBITED, the entry fees will be forfeited. Refunds will be considered only upon receipt of a 
veterinarian’s or doctor’s certificate.  Such Certificates must be received prior to 8:00 A.M. on the day of the class.  Once the show 
has started, only those Certificates issued by the official show veterinarian will be considered.  In any case, a cancellation fee of 
$35.00 per horse/rider will be retained by the horse show. 
 
The Committee reserves the right to REFUSE OR TO LIMIT ENTRIES, TO CANCEL ANY CLASS WITH LESS THAN THREE ENTRIES AND TO 
COMBINE OR DIVIDE CLASSES WHERE WARRANTED. 
 
ALL MEMBERS MUST PRESENT THEIR CURRENT USEF MEMBERSHIP CARD OR A COPY OF IT WHEN MAKING ENTRIES. NON‐MEMBERS 
MUST PAY A NON‐MEMBER SHIP FEE OF $60.00. 
 
APPROVED PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR MUST BE WORN WHEN RIDING ANYWHERE ON THE SHOW GROUNDS.  This rule will be 
strictly enforced. 
Exhibitor’s numbers will be provided at the show & must be appear on the rider before entering the ring. 
There will be a $25.00 OFFICE FEE CHARGE 
A Sharp’s container will be provided at the secretary’s stand. 
NO SCHOOLING WILL BE ALLOWED ON THE COURSES OR IN THE RINGS AT ANY TIME.   Warm‐up Classes will be offered in show 
rings, and numbers must be worn.  Separate schooling areas will also be available. 
STABLING:  There is no stabling available on show grounds. 
 
PRIZE MONEY WILL BE PAID AT THE SHOW.  A single check will be drawn to the order of each exhibitor at the conclusion of a 
section for the total amount of prize money won by the exhibitor in that section.  Once a check is disbursed, the show’s 
responsibility ends.  
The show will be held REGARDLESS OF WEATHER CONDITIONS.

A trophy or prize money and eight ribbons will be awarded in all classes except Warm‐ups which 
are unjudged. Championship and Reserve ribbons will be awarded in each Section.  Ribbons in 
Equitation and Jumper classes count 5, 3, 2 & 1.  Ribbons in Hunter classes count 10, 6, 4, 2, 1 & 
1/2.

OPPORTUNITY CLASSES  
 
Opportunity classes ‐  Do not need to be a member of USHJA & USEF.  Horses entered only in  these classes A. are 
exempt from the Federation fee, including the Equine Drugs and Medication Fee.  B. are not required to have a 
Horse Identification (HID) or Recording Number but are to list the HID or Recording Number if the horse has been 
assigned this number.  Riders/drivers/handlers entered only in these classes are exempt from the Federation 
membership requirements and are not required to pay a non‐member fee but are required to list the Federation 
membership number if the participant is a member. Note: Riders and horses may cross‐enter Opportunity Classes 
and Regular Classes; however, if cross‐entering into Regular Non‐Opportunity classes, all USEF membership 
requirements are in effect and  necessary fees/memberships will be charged.

By entering a Federation-licensed Competition and signing this entry blank as the Owner, Lessee, Trainer, Manager, Agent, Coach, Driver, Rider, Handler, Vaulter
or Longeur and on behalf of myself and my principals, representatives, employees and agents, I agree that I am subject to the Bylaws and Rules of The United States
Equestrian Federation, Inc. (the “Federation”) and the local rules of the competition. I agree to be bound by the Bylaws and Rules of the Federation and of the competition. I will accept as final the decision of
the Hearing Committee on any question arising under the Rules, and agree to release and hold harmless the competition, the Federation, their officials, directors and employees for any action taken under the
Rules. I represent that I am eligible to enter and/or participate under the rules, and every horse I am entering is eligible as entered. I also agree that as a condition of and in consideration of acceptance of entry,
the Federation and/or the competition may use or assign photographs, videos, audios, cable-casts, broadcasts, internet, film, new media or other likenesses of me and my horse taken during the course of the
competition for the promotion, coverage or benefit of the competition, sport, or the Federation. Those likenesses shall not be used to advertise a product and they may not be used in such a way as to jeopardize
amateur status. I hereby expressly and irrevocably waive and release any rights in connection with such use, including any claim to compensation, invasion of privacy, right of publicity, or to misappropriation. The
construction and application of Federation rules are governed by the State of New York, and any action instituted against he Federation must be filed in New York State. See GR908.4.

I AGREE in consideration for my participation in this Competition: Saint James Horse Shows to the following:
I AGREE that “the Federation” and “Competition” as used herein includes the Licensee and Competition Management as well as all of their officials, officers, directors, employees, agents, personnel, volunteers
	 and Federation affiliates.
I AGREE that I choose to participate voluntarily in the Competition with my horse, as a rider, driver, handler, vaulter, longeur, lessee, owner, agent, coach, trainer, or as parent or guardian of a junior exhibitor. I
	 am fully aware and acknowledge that horse sports and the Competition involve inherent dangerous risks of accident, loss, and serious bodily injury including broken bones, head injuries, trauma, pain,
	 suffering, or death (“Harm”).
I AGREE to hold harmless and release the Federation and the Competition from all claims for money damages or otherwise for any Harm to me or my horse and for any Harm of any nature caused by me or my horse
	 to others, even if the Harm arises or results, directly or indirectly, from the negligence of the Federation or the Competition.
I AGREE to expressly assume all risks of Harm to me or my horse, including Harm resulting from the negligence of the Federation or the Competition.
I AGREE to indemnify (that is, to pay any losses, damages, or costs incurred by) the Federation and the Competition and to hold them harmless with respect to claims for Harm to me or my horse, and for claims
	 made by others for any Harm caused by me or my horse while at the Competition. I have read the Federation Rules about protective equipment, including GR801 and if applicable, EV114, and I understand that I am
	entitled to wear protective equipment without penalty, and I acknowledge that the Federation strongly encourages me to do so while WARNING that no protective equipment can guard against all injuries.
	 If I am a parent or guardian of a junior exhibitor, I consent to the child’s participation and AGREE to assume all of the obligations of this Release on the child’s behalf.
I AGREE that if I am injured at this competition; the medical personnel treating my injuries may provide information on my injury and treatment to the Federation on the official USEF accident/injury report form.

61, 62, 63.  ADULT AMATEUR HUNTER.  Fences not exceeding 3’0”.  Performance and soundness 100%. 
Class 63 is the first round of the Marshall & Sterling Adult Amateur Hunter Classic 
AMATEUR OWNER HUNTER SECTION ‐ ‐ ‐ ‐  “C” RATING  
SEE CLASS  205 for $250 AMATEUR OWNER HUNTER CLASSIC 
Open to horses over 14:2 hands to be shown by Amateur‐Owner or an amateur member of the owner’s family who is no longer 
eligible to compete as a junior.  Leased horses are not eligible and multiple ownership is not permitted unless all owners are 
members of the same family. 
64.  AMATEUR OWNER HUNTER UNDER SADDLE.  Walk, trot & canter.  To hand gallop at discretion of judge.   
65, 66, 67.  AMATEUR OWNER HUNTER.  Fences 3’6”.  Performance and soundness 100%.  Trophy & Eight Ribbons. 
 
    LOW ADULT HUNTERS: LIHSAA Award & Stirrup Cup 
             Fences 2’6”.     
Open to horses and ponies ridden by adult riders who are considered amateurs according to USEF rules.  Riders may not cross enter 
into any class or section at the same competition where the fences exceed 2’9”. (Exception: 3’ Equitation).   
 
68.  LOW ADULT HUNTER UNDER SADDLE.  Walk, trot and canter.  Not to gallop.  Performance and soundness 100%.

81, 82, 83.  HOPEFUL HUNTER.  Fences 2’0’”; Simple changes of Lead not penalized.  Performance & soundness 100%.   
 
LIHSAA LOW HUNTER SECTION:  Open to horses & ponies.  Fences 2’6”.    $30.00 per Class. 
Adults may show ponies in this section, but that Pony may not be shown in any class restricted to Junior riders at this show.   
84.  LOW HUNTER UNDER SADDLE.  Walk, trot and canter.  Not to gallop.  Performance and soundness 100%. 
85, 86, 87.  LOW HUNTER. Fences 2’6”.  Performance and soundness 100%. 
 
PERFORMANCE HUNTERS 3’3” “C” Rated (USEF & LIHSAA) :  Shown over a course of fences 3’3”. 
88.  PERFORMANCE   HUNTER UNDER SADDLE.  Performance & soundness 100 %. Trophy & Eight Ribbons.  
89, 92, 91.  PERFORMANCE  HUNTERS O/F  Fences 3’3”.  Performance & soundness 100 %. Trophy & Eight Ribbons. 
 
HUNTER CLASSICS 
200. MARSHALL & STERLING CHILDREN’S PONY HUNTERHUNTER CLASSIC. Entry Fee: $35.00.
To be eligible, ponies must be entered in the entire Children’s Pony Hunter Division. PONIES MUST BE ENTERED 
OR SCRATCHED before the start of the Children’s Hunter division. Absolutely no adds or scratches to this class will 
be accepted once the division has started. First round of classic will be 3rd over fences class. 
201. $500 MARSHALL & STERLING CHILDREN’S HORSE/ADULT HUNTER CLASSIC: Entry Fee:
$50.00. To be eligible, horses must be entered in the entire Children’s or Adult Amateur Hunter Division. HORSES 
& PONIES MUST BE ENTERED OR SCRATCHED before the start of the Children’s Hunter division. Absolutely no 
adds or scratches to this class will be accepted once the division has started. 
$150, $110, $75, $55, $45, $35, $30. 
If there are less than 9 entries before the class begins, then classic will be run for ribbons and
M&S points only. (NO USEF BONUS POINTS), and the entry fee reduced to $40.00. First round of the 
classic will be the 3rd over fences class of the respective section. 
202. BIT O’STRAW HUNTER Entry Fee: $50.00 Open to Junior or Amateur riders. No cross entry of 
horse/pony or rider into the M&S Children’s or Adult Hunter Classic. Fences 2’6”. One class two rounds. Qualifier 
for Marshall & Sterling Finals. 
203. $250 PONY HUNTER CLASSIC TWO ROUNDS. Entry Fee: $25.00. To be eligible ponies must enter & 
compete in the Regular Pony Hunter Division. Fences 2’3 for Small ponies, 2’6 for Medium ponies & 3’0 for Large 
ponies. $75, $55, $40, $25, $20, $20, $15. 
204. $250 JUNIOR HUNTER CLASSIC TWO ROUNDS. Entry Fee: $25.00. To be eligible horses must enter 
& compete in the Junior Hunter Division. Fences 3’6”. $75, $55, $40, $25, $20, $20, $15. 
205. $250 AMATEUR OWNER HUNTER CLASSIC TWO ROUNDS. Entry Fee: $25.00. To be eligible

LEADLINE SECTION 
Riders may not enter any other classes at this show.   Entry Fee:   $25.00 per Class.   
99, 100.  LEADLINE PONY/HORSE.  Child under 9 to show at a walk only. 
    Manners & suitability to be especially considered. 
101.  LEADLINE PONY/HORSE.  Child under 9 to show at a walk and trot.  To be judged 50% on manners and 
suitability and 50% on horsemanship. 
JUMPER DIVISION   
In all classes, horses that are tied for other than first place shall remain tied and any prize money shall be divided 
equally among the tied horses.  Owners of horses tied for first place may elect to jump off or toss a coin.  A 
rotating jumping order will be established as necessary.  Course diagrams will be posted at least one‐half hour 
prior to each class. 
 
PUDDLE JUMPER SECTION 
Open to horses and ponies.  Fences 2’3” to 2’6”.  $25.00 per class
