Climate change is scarring the Siberian landscape as vast swathes of ground are thawing. Scientists are warning about the consequences of permafrost melting across Siberia, which is releasing long-buried greenhouse gases and damaging infrastructure as the ground softens. Unless addressed, the thawing permafrost will continue to have damaging effects on Siberia's environment and release further greenhouse gases.
